Cauterised.
I am a member of the "sedatives and numbing agents don't work" club. My worst nightmares involve incompetent anaesthesiologists. The one time I had general, it was well done, but I learned laughing gas doesn't work on me. Nor do other drugs not applied by IV.
And yes, nitrate burns like heck. Not fun.

The (female) reception clerk at the pool that I go to, one who I've been conversing with on an almost daily basis (though little more than "hello"), thought that I was going to the place's gym- not to the pool- and thus didn't warn me today about Women's Only time (so that I had to leave as soon as I entered the water).
I wonder if that says anything about me. Or my progress.

Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

The original version of that song constantly plays over and over in my head. That was hilarious!
I'm going to be singing it all night.

my roommate was waving a plunger at a moth just now, in an attempt to 'get it' or protect herself. It was a lovely moth, I felt bad killing it for her.

183 times in one month?! I am horrified, and surprised at the number. Waterboarded 183 times in one month. Waterboarding began after he'd revealed all information he knew, the torture resulted in nothing more discovered. 183 times. these were the insane limits we put on waterboarding to declare it legal, and then we didn't even stand by this rather disgusting 'line in the sand'.

[W]here authorized, it may be used for two "sessions" per day of up to two hours. During a session, water may be applied up to six times for ten seconds or longer (but never more than 40 seconds). In a 24-hour period, a detainee may be subjected to up to twelve minutes of water appliaction. See id. at 42. Additionally, the waterboard may be used on as many as five days during a 30-day approval period.

I don't know what they smell like but I've decided I really like gardenias (Gardenia jasminoides) as seen here; they're beautiful.

Wow, you are such a guy. Flowers smell very different. Lilacs, honeysuckle, gardenia, lily of the valley, etc. Those are just some that I can think of off the top of my head that have very distinct and individual scents.

(Maybe this should go in confessions or Bob?)
I wasted my entire afternoon and evening, with the exception of the time I was watering the lawn and helping my mom with groceries, reading the first 3 years of my LJ posts and reading pages 2-19 of Milagre.
My thoughts, summarized:
Why would someone not give their child a middle name? Names are fun and I will have a hard enough time keeping it down to first and first-middle name as it is should I have children and there are people running around with only a first and last? So wrong.
I have been meaning to get in touch with Jeebsy-Paul but likely won't. But I've been thinking about the goober for a few hours now, so that's almost like getting in touch with him, right? Right.
Getting to our Prom thread reminded me of something I saw on a walk last week (someone had asked someone out to prom by writing "Prom?" on a brick wall) and while it wasn't overly creative or even all impressive, it's still more than I ever got as I was never asked to any dance, nor asked to dance at the ones I went to alone (though I did ask them, dumb boys) and all that made me think of this quote:
"My girlfriend always has that feeling that something's missing. She checks her pockets, checks her purse, counts her kids, but nothing's gone. She decided it was side effects from not going to her prom." - Pretty in Pink
I think I will automatically fall in love with and marry the first guy who asks me to dance. I would even give brief consideration to taking his last name.
I love Kelly's "awkward..." thread.
And Ali's thread about how we think others filter the world (politics, religion, interpersonal, etc.).
It's probably a very good thing we don't do Pweb awards anymore, being as small as we are.
That is all I can remember.
(That was random-ish, right?)

Oh, oh, oh...will someone, preferably male, please explain to me what is wrong with Zac Efron, as in why people find the sight of him obnoxious?

He's like a one-man boyband. Barely pubescent girls are much too obsessed with him. And as a general rule, anything that barely pubescent girls are interested in is annoying and stupid.

Because he's so handsome, and he plays such sensitive, nice characters. We just can't live up to that ideal.Oh, oh, oh...will someone, preferably male, please explain to me what is wrong with Zac Efron, as in why people find the sight of him obnoxious?
