The "I Enjoy Crap" Club
I like ANTM, romance novels, boxed wine, and the musical stylings of Ke$ha. What crap do you enjoy?
This thread needs a dobie. Or someone referencing crap as in fecal matter.

I enjoy Katy Perry too! I haven't watched Teen Mom this season, but I was obsessed with last season.

I discovered this weekend that even my mother watches Katy Perry music videos at least. I find absolutely no shame in some of her stuff, especially "Not Like the movies."
(thank you thread for reminding me that today is a True Blood day! I've even *cough* read the books)
I have some friends who claim they don't see anything they watch/read/like as a guilty pleasure, but I sure as heck don't admit to half of the things I watch/read to the vast majority of my friends. Or that I like to cosplay as Ten.

One of my best friends intends to incorporate professional wrestling into his PhD Art History work.I have been watching professional wrestling for literally as far back as I can remember. I think I win the thread.

My same wrestling friend watches it! He used to watch it with his ex-girlfriend and we also used to use the phrase "watching True Blood" as a euphemism for sex, lolol.True Blood isn't crap!
I still don't understand why I don't know any men who watch it.

I love Project Runway. I love Chick-Lit novels (Jennifer Weiner, Lauren Weisberger, Meg Cabot's adult stuff). Every Friday, I get "It's Friday" by Rebecca Black stuck in my head and I'm not sure it's ironically anymore.
I refuse to admit that True Blood is total crap. And Paul watches it, he was the one who got me into it. So there's another guy for ya.

*raises hand* Meg Cabot's teen stuff. Did I read at least the first 5 Princess Diary books and then compare them to the movie? Yes, yes I did.Meg Cabot's adult stuff)
Nikki trilogy (about body swapping and modeling)? You bet.
Syphon quotes this as his FB status nearly every Friday, so you're not alone on that.Every Friday, I get "It's Friday" by Rebecca Black stuck in my head and I'm not sure it's ironically anymore.
If I see it, the song may do a play or two in my head and I don't know if you guys listened to the version zero linked to (a polka) but I actually enjoy that version. When you remove the terrible singing and the awful lyrics, it's a decent song. I guess if you take away those two things, however, it is automatically less shameful or something.
I used to watch Hannah Montana and not because of my nieces' or students' interest in it.
I like a Jonas Brothers' song enough to have it on my MP3 player.
I watched High School Musical 2 the night it premiered on Disney (but never did see part 3).

I've even gone to a Cabot signing and have read most of her books.*raises hand* Meg Cabot's teen stuff. Did I read at least the first 5 Princess Diary books and then compare them to the movie? Yes, yes I did.Meg Cabot's adult stuff)

HSM2 premiered the night before I left for college and I watched it and it was delightful. I have seen parts of 3, so I know that Troy chose my college as well, haha.

I spent my Fourth of July watching the High School Musical marathon, so I've officially seen all three. I also watched the second one the night it premiered, and not entirely because my cousin wanted to.
I watch Say Yes to the Dress, and many episodes of Teen Mom and 16 and pregnant.
I still enjoy Britney Spears, Bwitched, and Spice Girls.

I enjoy old-school Britney. I've heard her recent stuff and I don't hate it but it doesn't hold a candle to pre-meltdown stuff for me.I still enjoy Britney Spears and Spice Girls.
And I do still love the Spice Girls. My favorite of theirs is actually one of the lesser known singles, "Holler."

Mr. Dear and I bought one of these "Classic" collections at Wal Mart. It's the "Warriors" one. Anyway, it's fifty old movies from sandals and swords to sultans to evil dukes, we now have all of these awful movies that we just can't get enough of. I enjoy the awful dubbing and the voluptuous Italians who try to play blonde English ladies fair.
Yay, I'm a llama again!

Oh, hells yes. Better. Oh my gosh. I love it. It just slays me. I mean, South Park did a great, great send up of it, but even they could not capture the full sincere, earnest, hilarious ridiculousness that is Dog.

That's quite complimentary.Satya, I've never read her stuff but that post still added to this crazy new image of you I'm forming and have been forming from your past handful of posts here.
I read the "Dark Hunter" series. And the books were actually... pretty good. Yeah, all the normal "romance novel" stuff, but the mythology she employed to frame the narrative was quite in-depth, and the action (which was plentiful enough to keep all the romance from being over-bearing) was well-described and at times quite gripping. I had a lot of time on my hands at my job during that year or so, and they really kept me interested. My friend (who is also not someone you'd think would read them, a rap-loving UFC-watching urban type guy) was buying them every time one came out and would loan me his copies whenever he finished. I was usually waiting impatiently.
Well that's more than enough discussion of that. =/

Yeeeah. I'm probably enjoying your more approachable nature a bit too much. I guess I just find it cool, after times in the past where I'd avoid threads altogether because I was sure you'd pop in and pick things apart using slang I greatly dislike.

It's been a conscious effort. It's long overdue.

I am not always a nice person. I'm not even always a good person. But people still seem to care even when I'm a jerk, so I figure maybe I don't always need to be such a jerk. I've got enough character flaws as it is (ego, self-righteousness, pride to name a few).

I read "Megatokyo", and I will be the first one to tell you that it is terrible. It wasn't so bad back when Caston was involved; and I really like his influence in it, but after that point... It is just such a manifestation of the word "weeaboo" with all of its negative connotations. So many stereotypes embodied.
But I still read it. I think part of it is that it's the webcomic I've been reading for the longest amount of time that's still going. (DubThis!, Exploitation Now, MacHall, and User Friendly were the only ones I read before Megatokyo. User Friendly I stopped reading because it is also terrible, and the rest have ended.) At least it doesn't take much time, since it is rarely updated and it reads pretty quick. Art's good, too. Meh.
