This has always been one of my favorite things to find out about people. That is, finding out how they met, who else they know, finding the connections. Plus, it's always kind of cool when science half-proves wives' tales.

I also love any excuse to brag that my Bacon number is, at most, a 4. I'm sure there are others on this board with lower ones, though, the jerks.

It really is a fascinating book about the Internet and how organizing and social relationships are changing because of it.

Yay misleading coverage of science by the media!

"Survey of instant-messagers finds any two people just 6.6 degrees apart"

No, it doesn't. It finds that's the average seperation of two people using Microsoft Messenger. But who cares about accuracy, accuracy is less interesting.



Still, really cool study. I love reading about social networking stuff.
