you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost

Despite the fact that I can't actually spit out half the words in this song, it's been stuck in my head for the past week and a half or so; heard it for the first time back in November.

Muse's Suppermassive Black Hole has been stuck in my head probably over a month now. It's a great driving song.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

this song has been background noise to me for weeks, just a catchy fun hook but I hadn't really paid close attention to it.
Driving to work today it came on the radio and I really listened to it. I quite like it, not a favorite, but especially the chorus
ETA and although it's a song that was deliberately written to pack as many country song cliches as possible into a single song, I'm completely addicted to Chicken Fried. It never fails to put a big grin on my face and cheer me up.

So now I'm slowing it down and I'm looking around
And I'm lovin' this town and I'm doing alright
Ain't worried 'bout nothing cept for the man I wanna be
I'm thinking maybe it's time to be livin' the rhyme
When I'm singing a song about nothing but right
And it'd sure be nice if you would roll with me

You know I like my chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

On this note, the whole Twilight Soundtrack is amazing. Go ahead and hate the book, hate the movie, but give the soundtrack a chance. You won't regret it! I've pretty much listened to only that album and Jamie Cullum's 2 albums for the last 2 months (except for christmas music).Muse's Suppermassive Black Hole has been stuck in my head probably over a month now. Alea, ever since you posted this link "Untouched" has been stuck in my head!!! The problem? While I love, love, LOVE the strings in the song, I hate, hate, HATE the voices on these girls.

Sorry! The strings are great; the music (not the singing) in general has a bit of an 80s vibe to me, so I love it. I'm actually not too bothered by their voices.Despite the fact that I can't actually spit out half the words in this song, it's been stuck in my head for the past week and a half or so; heard it for the first time back in November.

Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
The Rocket Summer - Treasures
Etta James – These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You)
Coheed and Cambria - Wake Up

Yellowcard is awesome, particularly the Paper Walls album, AAR is awesome too, but I think Gives You Hell is my least favorite song on their new album...can't stop listening to Another Heart Calls though. Also, I'm in love with Loituma's Ievan Polkka, and cyborgjeff's Miss EskimoAs for what I'm listening to (or trying to listen to; see 'Things I hate' thread), in order of most listens in the past few days:

I seem to get those "Could not obtain common word list" errors a lot.

Down the Road - Kenny Chesney
when I bought the CD this is on last fall this was the one song that stood out and was my favorite for the weeks I played the cd in my car. Now it's a radio single and I hear it almost every day, and I still like it. Kenny's phrasing on the chorus, which is a little odd, is so freaking compelling, what a way to turn it into a sort of goosebump raising hook. one of my favorites of his songs (one of my all time favorite songs ever is his, "that's Why I'm Here") along with Don't Happen Twice, Better as a Memory and Back Where I Come From.
I discovered an unknown Brad Paisley song a while back, When I Get Where I'm Going, a duet with Dolly Parton that is just wonderful. The part that gets me every time is the second verse, that makes the song for me. *is a sap*
speaking of being a sap, I remembered my sister told me over break to watch the brad paisley video of Waitin' on a Woman, which features Andy Griffith. goddammit she was right, it's a feaking amazing video. I love Andy Griffith so much.

Cobra Starship - While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets
I originally listened to Cobra Starship because of the awesome track that went along with the summer blockbuster every person in the world hated, Snakes on a Plane, and I eventually decided I really like the track, so I downloaded the whole album. I recently rediscovered it and decided that, yes, this music is enjoyable, and, yes, I should try the band's other album.

The Eagles - Take It Easy
Best Eagles song. I am so sick of Hotel California, for serious.I've been standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
And such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord
In a flat-bed Ford
Slowing down to take a look at me
Shell the unshellable, crawl the uncrawlible.

For some reason, this song has been on continuous loop for like an hour.Any dolt with half a brain
Can see that humankind has gone insane
To the point where I don't know
If I'll upset the status quo
If I throw poison in the water main
Listen close to everybody's heart
And hear that breaking sound
Hopes and dreams are shattering apart
And crashing to the ground
I cannot believe my eyes
How the world's filled with filth and lies
But it's plain to see
Evil inside of me
is on the rise

(just a single word without spaces or hyphens sounds more correct in my head, but wrapping makes the page less annoying to read, so eh)

It seems so much shorter in your head when it's memorized. Singing (or, uh, speaking) along with this is so fun.

I'm listening to 7th graders arguing about "The Giver"
also, more musically, I'm listening to a mix of T-Bone Burnett, evilhero, Incubus, Snow Patrol, Muse, and Toad the Wet Sprocket.

Now I'm listening to "Nothing to die For" by Tim McGraw
And While I agree that "Down the Road" is a great, great song, I have to disagree with your "Better as a Memory" choice. I hated that song. He should have singled more from "Just as I Am: Poets and Pirates" like "Wife and Kids" and "Just Not Today" and "Dancin' For the Groceries". That is not like KC to only single four songs. Normally he does six or seven.

"This must be the end, then."-MorningLightMountain, Judas Unchained
yeah. that song nails so much for me it's probably an all time top ten. I can't believe you hated it, Shawn.I move on like a sinner's prayer
Letting go like the levees break
Walk away as if I don't care
Learn to shoulder my mistakes
I'm built to fade like your favorite song
Getting reckless when there's no need
Laugh as your stories ramble on
Break my heart but it won't bleed
My only friends are pirates
that's just who I am
I'm better as a memory
than as your man.
[/quote]I'm never sure when the truth won't do
Pretty good all alone at night
I move on the way a storm blows through
Never stay, but then again I might
I struggle sometimes to find the words
Always sure until I doubt
Walk a line until it blurs
Built walls too high to climb out
But I'm honest to a fault
That's just who I am
I'm better as a memory
Than as your man
...
Cause goodbyes are like a roulette wheel
Never know where they're gonna land
First you're spinning then you're standing still
Left holding a losing hand.
But one day you're gonna find someone
Right away you'll know it's true
That all of your seeking's done
It was just a part of the passing through
Right there in that moment
You'll finally understand
That I was better as a memory
Than as your man.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

It was the middle school english class I was subbing for today.I've had arguments about The Giver, but with people who are older than 7th grade...
I'm listening to "Day Tripper". By the Beatles.
Currently listening to a live bootleg of "Plug in Baby" by Muse with some of The Bravery, Linkin Park (from Minutes to Midnight, not their older stuff), and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on deck.
