An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything

Talk about anything under the sun or stars - but keep it civil. This is where we really get to know each other. Everyone is welcome, and invited!

An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything

Postby Eaquae Legit » Fri Nov 16, 2007 7:27 pm

Well, now, wouldn't this be cool?

Surfer-dude stuns physicists with theory of everything

There's a new unified field theory on the market, and it doesn't have anything to do with string theory. It accounts for all relevant, known phenomena and makes some very specific predictions which may prove true when the Large Hadron Collider starts up.

It's called "simple," but that's only by comparison. It's all still way beyond what your average layman can comprehend. Still, the implications are very cool, and I'd love it if it panned out.

Amazing. I have read about E8 before, and would not be surprised to find that this theory holds water (hahahaha).

That sounds really fascinating. I would be interested to see how this theory pans out.

It was at the bottom of the second page of the article. I'm not sure if you have to pay for full access or not, but it looks to be free.

It's free, I just downloaded the PDF. A bit shorter than I was expecting for something that's supposed to dethrone string theory, but what do I know. I haven't read much past the cover page yet, but I do like the pretty snowflakes on pages 19 and 20.

Same here. It's all pretty much gibberish to me though. I only asked because a friend of mine wanted to read it. Thanks, Ali!
