There's just that small problem of Chicago being in IL...

And it can't just move itself to Colorado? That's just silly. Colorado has room for it.

Confession: I still imagine trying out for an American Idol-style singing competition when I'm singing in the shower. Figuring out which songs I'm good at and still show a good range, where I'll have to skip instrumentals and things. It's silly.

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
That would be a more convenient location for me, if Chicago could do that. I'd have more friends kind of close by (then I could more easily raid Erica's closet and play dress up with the Steph'n'eggs) not to mention my puppies would be a state away. Alas, I don't think Chicago is willing to relocate. And it can't just move itself to Colorado? That's just silly. Colorado has room for it.
I emailed the guy in charge of the apartment I liked; he said there was one more unit in the building that was vacant because he had to re-do the kitchen on it, which could take...a month? Two if things went really slowly? I don't know that it would help but it's making me feel better to pretend that things could work out.

I know it's probably too soon for Denver to ask Chicago to move in, but maybe we could at least start with a first date? I think Chicago would be lucky to score a hot little number like Denver.

Denver seems like it would be hard to impress; Chicago is a little intimidated.

Denver is very willing to give anyone a chance. She likes diversity. Besides, have you seen her rack? Biggest one in the country!

I don't know what is going on but I have no attention span lately. I haven't been able to read a book in over a month.

In reference to the nearby Rocky Mountains, I believe, as well as the fact that Denver is located over a mile above sea level. Basically: mountains.Wait... what?

Oh, Chicago has taken notice alright. Have you seen the Hancock? Perhaps not the tallest building in the world, or US for that matter, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in the experience you get from visiting it. What a view, I tell you!Denver is very willing to give anyone a chance. She likes diversity. Besides, have you seen her rack? Biggest one in the country!

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
Pssh, quit reading into things, you two. Clearly Steph and I are discussing the great outdoors and architecture. Sheesh.
So, in the continuing Saga of the 26th St Apartment, zero needs to find out from his roommate what his plans are; he may be able to come up here by the end of the year assuming his roommate's talk of leaving the area they are in is serious. The realtor person said the other units in the building are nearly identical (something I'd need to make sure of, if this progresses) and one will be ready in 30 days and the other will be vacant in about 30 days but will probably need a little bit of turn around time for cleaning, etc. It would still be a loss of money for me but at least it would be less than 4 months of double rent.
I've been very distracted/one-track minded for the past few days. I hate waiting for things to unfold.

That is a great movie that I have not seen in at least a decade, I want to say. Should fix that soon.

One of the people I voted for I have never met and I know very little about, but I had a date with her daughter this Spring that went pretty horribly mediocre, and I feel bad about it.

I confess that it feels really, really good when people acknowledge that you spent time and effort on something and say that it's good. I know I'm supposed to be humble, but it's nice to be acknowledged too.

I think acknowledgement in general is a nice feeling but agreed; when it's obvious time and effort really went into something, it's especially nice.

I have never before so fervently wished for such opposite and yet simultaneous outcomes in my entire life.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I guess this is a confession, not sure though...
Sometimes, I leave my coat on for hours. On nights like this where i'm cold and grumpy, i'll come home and change into pajama pants but leave my coat on. Sometimes i'll even leave the hood on. Tonight however, because i'm grumpy, I am also wearing a set of cat ears.

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
So a close friend from college and his wife live in the same apartment complex as us. Its great, a nice married couple to do things with all the time. and someone to check on the snake when we go out of town. So the wife is out of town for 2 weeks on a business trip to S. Korea and my husband and the husband decided to go sleep in the woods for the weekend. So I'm a little lonely but I get to stay home in the warm dry weather and feed their cat.
The boys left this morning so about an hour ago I get ready to head over and feed the cat dinner when I realize that my spare key to their apartment is in their apartment because Rob was locked out on thursday and needed it to get in. *panic* So I run down to the office and explain that there is going to be a very hungry kitten if I can;t get in and feed it for a day and a half. not dead but neglected for sure! They say sorry but we can;t let you in without written consent... BALLS!
I run home and continue to call the boys every 2 min while emailing wife in Korea hoping she is up early on Sunday and has access to her email.
After a panicked 45 min and with a half hour to spare before the office closed for the night I got Rob on the phone ran to the office and let him talk to the manager who was kind enough to take verbal consent instead of written consent.
Kitten is now fed and i will go watch a movie with her later to keep her company. Wife has been informed that she shouldn't worry and Husbands in the woods are alive and have built their shelter for the night.
So everything worked out but man my heart was racing.
