Brian got the promotion! Now we just have to wait to see if he gets to interview for a much cooler position. It would be a lateral move to his new position, but it would be a much cooler, more exciting job.
This has been a long time coming, hasn't it? Congratulations, Brian! I'm sure it's well earned and very much deserved. :)

Thanks, guys! He should have been promoted a year and a half ago, so we're glad it actually happened this time.

I love how many trees there are in Minnesota, and how full of wonderfully green leaves they are.

I love walking in the rain.

I love how much my mom worries about me--a little annoying at times, but it's sweet.

I love North & South (the Elizabeth Gaskell BBC one--not the Civil War). It's all the best parts of Pride & Prejudice and Newsies rolled into one great miniseries.

ETA: I also love how smoldering stares are the main method of showing growing affection in these things. And how effective said stares are.

I absolutely LOVE playing in the dirt. I planted 16 strawberry plants today.

I also love strawberries!

Strawberries are indeed the absolute best. Also strawberry ice cream.

Nine hours of Ultimate Trivial Pursuit with my family yesterday, with a small break for a game of Pass the Popcorn. So much fun.

Going back a little...maybe I need to try a fresh strawberry but all the ones I've had from the store (two! Maybe three.) have all tasted bitter and have not excited my mouth. It probably was three. I had one in Tucson, one in my hometown, and one at zero's.

I love:
*having my list journal with me
*having the inspiration (though the motivation is a whole other story) to do a crafty thing
*that Ed taught me the quick way to check my voicemail and I've had opportunity to use it
*having pictures of me with my puppies...just need to develop them at some point
*that I got to hang out with my little brother (and the rest of my family)

Strawberries from the store usually taste like nothing much at all. But fresh strawberries from the field or farmer's market, taste incredible. See if there is a market in your area!

This. There is almost nothing better (well, at least for me) then getting a really good batch from the Farmer's Market. The ones you usually see in stores are grown for mostly size, and really lack flavor.

This poem.
Stream of Life
by Rabindranath Tagore

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.
You might recognise the song Praan from somewhere, that's the poem it was based on. I love the poem very much, and I love that the meaning of the song is as joyful as I always felt the music was.

I'm excited! I get to fly in a B17G bomber tomorrow! The plane (known as Aluminum Overcst) is owned operated by the EAA club chapter in spokane. Anyhow I have some business with them and I hear I may get invited to the right hand seat if all goes well. I'm not type rated for such a monster but someday health permitting maybe just maybe. Part of the problem with me in such aircraft is I'm a hell of a lot bigger than the oldtimers that flew them, its a real trick to get my long legs and bulk into a cockpit. :toocool:

[ Thanks EL ! I try to have fun but it's not all limeade and play. I wish I would have took the time to take care of myself when I was young and the kids were young, now i'm gettin old and I can afford to play but i'm pretty broken up. Enjoy your nice wife kid and youth I'm hopin you don't you push too hard and end up like me, it's easy to do and time flys by so fast when your busy and the kids are young. I had a Great flight yesterday but do to some wild weather I missed out on the stick time . I did get to do some of the preflight stuff and start all 4 1820-97 engines. I was standin pretty tall and I got to bring dad along]too with his camera so I get some extra brag time. 8) [/b]

I do try! I have to enjoy this time with Nom while I have the luxury. And life in general! I still stop from time to time on the sidewalk or in random places and exclaim "I'm in England!" It's a great feeling.

I love mango season.

I love that we had a fantastic audience for Merry Wives this evening. They laughed at all the right points (which was most of it) and were generally delightfully raucous.

Obnoxious boy-related post to follow. You have been warned!

I loved coming back to the apartment from work and having zero here, waiting for me. (Not necessarily waiting-waiting...just, there).

I love waking up with him here. And falling asleep with him here.

I love that he had food waiting for me when I got back from work yesterday.

I love how proud of himself he was for making the bed.

(I do not love him leaving.)
