I'm glad we picked up Brandon Lloyd, but I don't think he'll be enough to fix the problems in St. Louis. I hope he sticks around longer than a season.

Well, the Raiders got Palmer from the Bengals in a fairly risky trade. I don't know what I think of it, really. We'll see, I suppose. At least we have SOMEONE.
Carson Palmer back in Cali? I haven't seen him play since my freshman year of college. hmm, we have a place we can stay weekends not far from Oakland, but I'm afraid to go to a game there based on the rep. :-p
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

So. This pretty well sums up how I'm feeling about the Raiders-Chiefs game so far: :lecture:

Campbell, obviously, is out. Janikowski is out with a hamstring injury. My boy, Darren McFadden, apparently has a football injury. And our replacement quarterback, Boller, is apparently playing for the Chiefs. Threw two interceptions right to 'em. For two touchdowns.

This HAD to happen for the home game against the team I hate the most?

ARGH.

Okay, Boller threw another pick. We have Palmer in, but he doesn't really know the team that well. Still, I approve heartily of putting him in.

In good news, the baby is kicking me while I'm sitting on the birth ball. This is the first time baby has kicked me that I've felt when I haven't been lying down. Getting stronger! (I think s/he is offering to go in for Janikowski and kick us some field goals.) That almost makes up for it.

So. We have 6 picks, 14 penalties (I believe), we're being shut out 28-0 by a major rival in our home stadium. 21 of those points were a direct result of interceptions. Almost to the two minute warning. I predict at least one more penalty, possibly two. Three wouldn't shock me. We're at 2:10 in the 4th.

I wanted to watch the Chargers STOMP the Chiefs tonight. Because I hate them so. Even though it would mean the Chargers would get ahead 5-2. I don't hate the Chargers. I mean, I want to beat them, but not hatred like I have for the Chiefs (and Donny has for the Broncos.) So, even though I knew that strategically, we'd be better off with the Chiefs win, I wanted the Chargers to win. I wanted them to win BIG. And embarrass the Chiefs. Or, you know, at least beat them.

And the Chiefs f****** won it in OT.

:bash: :bash: :bash:
As Phillip Rivers said, "This is the WORST.Game.Ever." I am still a little upset over the s*** that went down in that game, most especially that botched snap at the end. I cannot believe that's how that game went down. What makes it even worse is that's the first game I'd caught in about a month. I missed one from being in Portland, I came back to a bye week, missed one from being in L.A. and then came back to this wreck.

And with us playing the Packers next week, I expect another loss. It would take a miracle to have anything else happen.

:bash: , indeed.

Currently losing my $20 entry fee in my fantasy league. I lay the blame firmly on Phillip Rivers and Maurice Jones-Drew. Way to over sell 'em, ESPN! MJD I should have known better about because I'm a Jags fan and disappointment is what we aim for, but Rivers is ticking me off. Top 5 fantasy quarterbacks for last three years and this year, nothing. :bash:

:(

I feel genuinely, personally responsible for this, which is crazy, I know, but honestly, this is not normal for him. Not even close. He is choking so badly from pressure this year and I don't know how much of that is to do with how many key players we've lost to injury (it seriously feels like one per game) and how much of that is to do with...I don't even know what, shaken confidence maybe. But the man, under normal circumstances, is a stellar quarterback and watching him so far this season makes my heart hurt a little bit. Or a lot. Depends on the game.

It's not your fault. I hope he gets his mojo back soon. (But not next week. Forgive me, I am a bit selfish about that game.)

's okay. That was a much closer loss than I expected. I'm so damn numb at this point from Rivers throwing interceptions; I cannot make sense of it.

At least it's tie within our supremely weak division still and in other great news, NE lost (HELL YES), the Dolphins finally got a win, and would you look at that, even if it was just against the Rams, the Cardinals got a nice shiny W to stick on their record!

Sorry, Alea. :(

Go Raiders!

What I'm most happy about is that we're playing like a team again. Even without Campbell, even without McFadden. (I hope Jacoby Ford won't be out for long, though.) Carson Palmer was REALLY stepping up this time. And Michael Bush! What an AWESOME player. He was amazing tonight. This is a lot more like our beginning of the season play. (Plus, they avoided crazy numbers of stupid penalties until the fourth quarter, which is when we turn into idiots.) I'm very proud of the defense, overall, too.

Alright. First of all, Raiders, good job getting the W.

Second of all, WHAT WAS THAT GARBAGE THE SECOND HALF?

ARGH.

You'd be such a great team if football games only lasted 30 minutes.

And over 100 yards in penalties? There is NO excuse.

I hope Heywood-Bey recovers. Man, that looked SO painful. He's lucky if he's not paralyzed. This is why I have told Donny that Little Bit will be playing in the band at football games.

Well, special teams has shown up today. Janikowski kicked six field goals! Lechler made a Raiders-record breaking punt.

Defense has shown up, too.

However, it appears the offense all decided to stay home.

If we win, it's not because we deserve to.

ETA: Spoke too soon! We're actually playing in the fourth quarter? What? I never heard of such a thing :D

Wooo Badgers. Luck: sure but a win is a win. And that was an exciting Flopping game! I didn't get to watch it. I went to a fundraiser with georgien. But I kept track on my phone whenever I could find reception. But towards the end I was standing in the only place I could to get some bars and get updates. Badgers score, 2 point conversion. 3:45 left. My phone dies. Frack!
Get her phone. Dead. Frack Frack!
Sweet talk the owner of the place. He turns on the radio. Just in time for the last 2.5 minutes.
Exciting. :)
Rose bowl bound, baby. Go Badgers!

Anyone a college football fan around here? I would check the past 17 pages, but that's a lot of work. I'm an SEC girl, Florida Gators all the way. Otherwise, it's Redskins football (ouch) and Capitals hockey. I'm also required to cheer for the Canucks, per my relationship agreement with Boyfriend.

Yay, it's Brain!

Speaking of college football... how do we feel about the bowl matchups?

As an SEC girl, I can't help but be happy that we're going to be getting the title this year... but it also seems really boring. It also has the potential to really stir things up. If LSU loses the BCS, then they're both one-loss SEC teams that have only lost to each other. How can you award a championship that way?

Not that it matters, though. LSU isn't going to lose.

Then there's my Gators in the Taxslayer.com bowl... :bash:

I think this is the first year i have no intention of watching any of the bowl games. I may watch the Alamo bowl... but, I have watched the Championship every year since I was a kid... and I'm just not interested this year. We've already seen this game! Snoozefest.
