Freight trains. For the second time this week, one has pulled through my station and literally stopped on my crossing so that despite being at the station 10 minutes before the scheduled commuter train time, I missed my train to work. I got to stand there, twice, and watch my train pull up to and depart from the station. Today, I got so pissed, I cut 20 inches of hair off while I waited for the next train to come by two hours later.
At least the haircut went well!

Freight trains. For the second time this week...
Again. Make that "For the third time in a week..."

I left earlier, ran to the next closest station, and still missed it because there were two freight trains today, one from the east and one from the west, and they both stopped on the tracks to let my work train pass.

f*** them.

Why do all of my friends fall into one of these two categories:
1) People who get stupid-drunk (not fun) and stay up until 3:30 or 4am?
2) People who don't drink at all and go to bed before midnight (not fun)?

Why are there no other people who like staying up late to have fun AND maintaining relative sobriety?

I do
I'm 14 so duh I don't drink, and I like staying up late
... but, I live super far from you, and have to go to school at 7:50 am which kills the whole late night thing most nights

Maryland. (Sorry if any of you are from there, and I'm not sure if I'm sorry for offending you, or just sorry that you have to be from there...) As a Virginian through and through yes there's an ingrown sense of rivalry but there's also just the facts. Maryland driver's are the worst drivers on the face of the planet...Drive down 495 and try to tell me I'm wrong. Nobody uses theier signals, they just drift in and out of lanes, they start to exit then swerve eractically back into traffic without looking all the time. A few weeks ago I had to drive through MD and was laying on my horn at this lady who kept drifting into my lane cuz she was on her phone (which I'm fine with as long as you know how to drive to start with) and finally got free of her only to see her drift one way, hit the car next to her, over correct and swerve into the other lane and hit the car on the otherside which then caused a chain reaction and like 4 other cars got hit...Man I can't stand that state...

Also Mayonaise and Vinigar.

Further food for thought, there have been eight (8) US Preisdents from Virginia, from Maryland...Zero (0).

Ok, reading back that all came out a little harsh, I do apologise to any Marylanders out here in PWEB world, I had some MDer's riding my butt on the way to work today, like literaly probably 2 feet from my bumper and couldn't get em off me so I was frustrated so please forgive me haha, The Virginian in me will still stand by my state though :)

My husband graciously stopped at the store to get me yogurt on the way home from work last night. When I went to use it this morning, I saw that he accidentally got me BAnilla instead of VAnilla. The former is banana/vanilla flavored and is gross. I had already cut up a peach for my yogurt breakfast. I had to shower and go to the store and exchange it. Boo!

Besides my place of employment in general? My manager is more concerned with the new person's schedule and how it will interfere with her schooling (she is also just starting) than he is with mine, even though I have been working here for almost two years and let him know my needs a month ago, a month before the new person was hired or even needed.

This is why 5 of the 7 current employees are submitting applications elsewhere!

J.K Rowling regrets Ron and Hermione together.

Wow! Strong words.

I never really saw the whole "Ron and Hermione" thing as making much sense in the long-term, but I ended up liking them as a couple. Harry and Hermione didn't make sense to me at all. But I mean hey, we're after the fact now. It's been over for years. Can't she reveal her own opinions on what she wrote?

I increasingly regard her much the same way I regard George Lucas. By means of a happy accident she created something that I enjoy very much, and now appears to be klutzing about with no real idea of what made it good and mucking things up, and it would be best for everyone if she just stayed away from here on out.

She is so, so wrong. Harry + Hermione would have been so miserable to read. They're both such serious characters. Reading about them in a relationship would have been difficult and irritating and the opposite of fun. (And they never had any chemistry at all, good or ill. They were a believable, enjoyable friendship.) Hermione and Ron -- would they have irritated each other a great deal as real-life romances go? Yeah, sure. But they were so much fun to read.

(Also, as a woman with a Ph.D. who married a man without a college degree, f*** the narrative where the traditionally-successful woman is expected to marry the more traditionally-successful man. Why NOT marry someone who is good and kind and cares about you and makes you laugh and supports and is proud for your successes? In that sense, Hermione and Ron together is quite a progressive pairing.)

We have a bad pine bug infestation around here this year, the worst Iv'e ever seen! Large areas of all the pine varietys are affected, it seems like the trees just turn brown overnight. This could be a real mess around here. I hope this is an isolated deal.

I hate it when the grass blooms! If I even rub my eyes a little bit it looks I've been in a bad fight, after the first couple weeks in june its over for me.

I cannot focus. On much of anything, really. I'm trying to read a (really good!) book for class and can't focus, so I move to another homework assignment and can't focus, then worry about my library program tomorrow (and feel bad for spending $24 of the library's money on maybe 7 teens) and can't focus...

I am so done with applying for visas. And I am so very done with the university threatening to not give us a critical piece of information for the visas. And I'm generally just done with constantly feeling threatened by the Powers That Be in this country because we're non-EU immigrants so we're easier to bully as there are fewer laws to protect us.

I hate it that my eldest girl is getting remarried this Saturday! I hate the seedy little skid lid, he won't even look me in the eye. Every time he gets around me he looks at the ground n acts all twitchy. I know there is something wrong about him but I haven't found it yet. And why set the date when they know we will be harvesting and that screws things up for us too.

I am, through and through, not a writer. Trying to write most anything requires a lot of quiet and a lot of concentration and even then I don't feel as though I've gotten it right. And so much of this profession I'm trying to break into is about writing (reviews, articles, blogs, etc) that I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't just find a nice little job at a nice little library and try to forget my ambition. Because feeling like my mental hamster is running a marathon for every 300 word response/review I have to or supposedly want to do is exhausting.

My pop turned up with cancer and it did not get caught in time n spread. What a damn mess! My family n friends think I'm the most stubborn overbearing man in America, not true my pop is way way worse. This sucks bad, the bullheaded s*** won't let me or anyone see him but it don't keep him from calling me and giving me the buisness every hour or so. This best level out some soon , I'm used to fixing stuff just was'nt counting on this brand of stuff.
