Things that I hate

Postby Sparrowhawk » Wed Apr 11, 2007 11:12 pm

(or intensely dislike, for you pansy-sissy-pants.)

- Having to specify "English" before an ATM transaction.

- Immanuel Kant

- Keynesian economics

- British people age 18-24

- Tibetan occupation

- Missiles aimed at Taiwan

- People who hang up gaudy office decorations

- Watered down Kyoto-protocal clones being hailed as progressive legislation

- Hexagonal atmospheric disturbances circling the poles of gas giants in our solar system

- Alcohol

- Tobacco

- The ATF

- The DEA

- The FBI

- The DHS

- Senile Senators who somehow keep getting elected

- The customer-service industry

- MSNBC for not having the balls to back their long-standing employee

- Al Sharpton

- The "Reverend" Jesse Jackson

- Bono, U2 and anything they do/say/think

- People who don't replace the weights on the workout machines after they're done using them at the gym

- That stupid "class warfare" poster every dumb punk socialist has on their blog, where the "labor" class is holding up platforms for the progressively richer "classes."

- That my town has more bars per square mile than any other type of business

- American Idol, Deal or No Deal, 1 vs. 100, Criminal Minds, Cold Case

That's it for now. Vent at your leisure.

Oh come on, there was no racism in that statement whatsoever, eddie. Don Imus definately isn't a racist prick.

1. People who blame their bad behavior on some mental disorder.

2. Bad mods with sticks up their asses.

3. People who do not distinguish between different kinds of minorities.

I think it's well past time that I, on behalf of the whole island of Ireland, give a sincere and heartfelt apology for U2. We just... we didn't know how annoying they could truely be.

Every country has something to regret in their past. Germany has the Holocaust, the US has Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and we have U2. Though the amount of people affected by U2 vastly outnumbers those of any other disaster in the history of mankind, I hope you can some how find a way to forgive my people, and know that we will forever live with this shame.

Naruto.

Of all the media that's been beamed through my eyes and into my brain, this single word, this "Naruto" is the most torturous collection of light and sound I have ever had the extreme discomfort of sensing.

Starting off with a ridiculous plot that haphazardly tosses around genres and elements like a thick, animated salad - ranging from history, war, science fiction and fantasy to mythology and superhero. Then, it creates the most irritating and annoying protagonist it can conceive; a haughty little bastard child who has the luck of possessing near unlimited power and skill as well as his own demon. They throw in a bunch of other ill-conceived, half-baked characters most of which are whiny children with incongruent powers just like our "hero." They dress these misfit brats in ridiculous and often garrish garb, adhering to no particular time, setting or place anywhere in the known universe. They make them talk like high-school outcasts with too much time on their hands who didn't get beaten enough as kids. The dialogue is uncomfortable, forced and often just plain stupid. "Believe it?" I think not. Then they make them ninjas and have them fight, which is apparently the only reason anyone watches; but I didn't see anything that I could actually qualify as being related, even tangentially, to any actual representation of ninja.

Basically, they took the worst parts of both the venerable DragonBall Z and the unapalogetic soap opera known as Inuyasha (often referred to as "DBZ for girls"), and forcibly created a hideous TV show baby. They took the crappy flash-and-go fighting of DBZ, complete with ludicrous power and hardly believable story/characters/situations and tossed in some pretty-looking wank material ala Inuyasha.

Bottom line, it's the worst piece of steaming monkey s*** I have ever seen; its redeeming pieces are all plagiarized rip-offs and its original materials are all uncreative tripe. If only that were the worst of it, but the second "Thing I hate" on this list is also a product of Naruto:

Naruto fans.

I believe Narutards is the common term. Even dattebayo themselves makes fun of them. Reading their info pages can be quite fun, like this one.

Those at Fox who canceled "Firefly." They're going to burn in a very special level of hell, with the child molesters and people who talk in the theater.

- People that chew with their mouths open
- Chewing gum
- Mouth breathers, in general
- When people insist that they "never get sick" after you suggest that they're sick
- People who never, ever, ever get in trouble

I haven't, actually. The last I played was VII (well, in the main series; I also played Tactics). And VI is certainly the best I've played.

...I like how this thread degenerated into discussing Final Fantasy...

And yes, FFXI is fun only depending on the people you are with. (Luminariel, whm54, Fenrir... sigh, only lvl54 after one year playing :D)

When people talk out loud about their problems, and then, when you ask about them (because you know they want you to), they avoid the topic.

that hairdressers use cutting your hair as a chance to tell you about all the salon products. I'm there to get my hair cut, not to get lectured about what shampoo I use.
