Who's Left? -- I Miss This Place

There comes a time every few months when I find myself growing incredibly nostalgic and returning to PWEB. Only when I return I grow even more sad and nostalgic, because it seems like everyone I knew and talked to have disappeared. So, here I am, on a rainy NW afternoon wondering who's left? Who still lurks on these boards?

Tell me who you are and when you first joined--I'll go first.

My name is Craig (have also gone by Alai) and I first joined PWEB around 1999 when Jake Lloyd was still talked about as playing Ender in the never-going-to-get-made Ender's Game adaptation. These boards will be forever special to me, because as a teenager struggling to figure out who he was, I finally found a place (and a community) that let me be me. We spent hundreds of hours talking about and analyzing the books in the Enderverse. You guided me through difficult times, listened to my fears and ambitions, and challenged me in ways I'd never been challenged.

I look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting new ones.

I've been an off-again, on-again lurker in recent years, though. Especially since this place has become so inactive.

Really what we need is to have OSC to get the book out that combines Ender and Bean's story archs back together. That way people have a place to come looking for more who like what we like.

Seriously I"m waiting on that book, I need my Ender's and Bean's story fix!!

I still log in and read a few times a month, but haven't posted anything original in a while.

I first joined Pweb back in September of 2000 with the handle Valentine Wiggin, and then after the first crash came back as Young Val and have kept that handle ever since.

I generally pop in back here at the end of each school year. Of course, I've graduated now. And had several tests to take (The Bar and the MPRE) right after this last one, so I guess I'm popping in at the beginning of an imaginary school semester.

Usually I post, then I do a long bit of lurking to see how people are, and then I disappear back into the night. Well, void. The void of the internet. Maybe I'll stick around longer as I wait for Bar results/my professional career to start.

I'm still around, but sometimes have gone years between log in's. been on here since the early 2000s. Most of my posts don't even exist anymore, realized when I logged in yesterday and it said I had 9 posts in total, when it should be in the hundreds.
I miss you guys.
