Courtney spent the semester banding birds (and small mammals) for a class. Made me think of Luet.

SO JEALOUS! *dies*

No but really, a couple of people that I've met through the local birding club have gotten to watch bird banding and I'm hoping to tag along someday.

The Italian distributor my company works with just sent over a HUGE Panettone. It is seriously so incredibly large. And delicious.

Of course, it makes me think of Steph.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I spent a good chunk of Friday hanging out in the YA section of my home library with a friend who doesn't live here anymore, because we didn't have any other nearby options for hanging out inside somewhere warm and where our conversation would be undisturbed. Kept imagining Alea would pop out at any second.

I went out for Thai last night! Clearly we all have linked brainwaves or something.

I had Phad Prig King from this place (and yes, I just looked up what I had on their online menu since I couldn't remember what it was called).

What'd you have?
I had ground beef with basil and white rice, which is the exact same thing I had with you two; I like to compare the same meals across multiple restaurants. I liked the one in Chicago better but this was still pretty good.

Posting spree!

Just saw "Her". It felt a lot like the Jane plot-thread had been torn out of the Ender saga (not just superficially), but then modified to be extra "artsy" by adding extra sex and lopping off the happy ending. That said, on the incredibly unlikely chance that Speaker for the Dead gets adapted into film, I vote ScarJo has dibs on being the voice-actress for Jane. She was awesome.

So saturday my inlaws were in town and we went for a hike. Chris and his mom picked the trail and as we were driving there I kept feeling like I'd been there... Turns out we went to Lower Mcleary trail... the trail we (Zero, Aleah, Fred, Wil and Mich) hiked on when we met in Portland. we should have gone a little further because there is an awesome old stone house where it meets another trail.

During a recent viewing of a Game of Thrones episode with some friends I started whistling the theme song, and my friends all marveled at my apparently excellent whistling skills. It made me think of something zero once said about how people apparently think he's an excellent whistler.

Anyway! zero! Remember that guy? Saved the forums?

I read that to him while he was playing a video game -probably not the best timing on my part- and he smirked. Which is kind of a lot, coming from him. I think it can be roughly translated into: "Oh, Mich, I'll always whistle for you." Or something. :P

aww, Teresa, I'm bummed we missed the stone house. But all in all, it was still a winner of a trip for getting to meet you lovely folks.

Every time Courtney talks about her summer plans, I think to myself "get Alea to show you around" :D

I am also a fairly good whistler, which I am especially proud of because my two brothers can't whistle at all! :)

If during her time here she ever needs/wants anything that I am able to offer, she should definitely let me know! Even if it's just a makeshift tour (where we end up searching for bathrooms for 90% of it) and a cold drink/gelato. :)

That's funny. I was just thinking of how much I was reminded of you by the weird person who kept following us around downtown today, mumbling something or other about how it's the best city he's ever been in.

I've been playing Watch_Dogs, which is set in Chicago, and naturally I've been thinking of our favorite Chicagoans. I have no idea how accurate the map is, so naturally I just compare it to Nolan's Gotham, but I do have to wonder.

Just mixed about a pound in a tbsp of OO, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste, and baked for 15 minutes at 400, turned, and baked another 10.
