Hey look at that, there's a bunch of spam again! Boo spam.

It's been taking me a while for me to respond when G_D tells me there's a bunch of it, even though we live in the same house. To make this go a bit faster, I've granted her the ability to delete spam accounts and posts herself, since she spends a lot more time on here than I do.

Normally I would think this is overstepping my bounds as a mere "Tech" to grant additional permissions to another person without gaining "approval", and this is clearly an abuse of power. But, it seems like no other Techs/admins/mods really come by here at all, so it's hard to imagine people really minding that much with the current state of things. So "screw it", I just went ahead and did it. But I'm letting you all know that I did so, to at least be transparent.

Maybe some others should be granted the same abilities, too, but I thought we'll just see how this goes first. I can see her deleting the spam right now, as I type this :)

I was so power-happy, I stayed up until 3 in the morning deleting spam while periodically annoying zero with "I'm mad with power. Look at me clean up these streets like Giuliani in NYC."

But yeah, literally the only extra power I have is to delete spam. I mean, I could delete other users/posts, too, but I wouldn't do that and I have no way of seeing in the Star Chamber or making any other changes, for what that is worth. And should any actual mod want to clean up spam in the future, they are more than welcome to do so and strip me of my janitorial powers.

Do zero's tech powers extend to enabling some additional anti-spam tech on the registration page?

He enabled a captcha feature that he noticed was available and is hoping that helps, but I honestly don't know that there is much else he can enable (meaning more that I'm ignorant and less that there are no options left). If you have some ideas, you can post them and I'll nudge him but I assume he's done what he can with what he has to work with. :)
