Voices

So. Some of us have heard each other's voices; either by meeting in person or video or whatnot.

But this idea came to me. There was a Vocaroo thread in another forum and I thought we might try it here.

So here's the deal:
  • Go to Vocaroo.com (literally 10 seconds to set up.)
    Click Record.
Record yourself reading a passage from Ender's Game.
I'll start obviously.

We did that in this thread, but that's not to say we can't do it, again!

Clearly you want to be interviewed, Satya.

I'm curious to hear what you sound like but my computer downstairs is not only filter challenged but also javascript challenged or whatever it is that's needed to play that.

I wonder if we could set up our own Ventrilo server, or would that be a bit too much?

Guess you all just have to do it again...

William Shatner vs. Rebecca Black?

Satya, that was not what I was expecting; your voice is deeper than I figured it would be.

Mich, I love you a little.

And Syphon... :P

Deeper than you figured?

I guess it's hard to tell what people subconsciously assume. And it's hard to grasp what you sound like without listening to a playback and even then, your perspective is skewed.

But Mich actually sounded pretty close to my expectation.

It never stops!

I've always suspected your voice had built in autotune.

Yes. I did jokingly ask someone, before I got home to listen, if it was high pitched and/or squeaky but then I more seriously asked if it sounded pretty normally male, to which they said yes (what in the heck else could they really say to that? Sounds male, so duh...). I don't think they were wrong but I must hear a slightly higher pitched (though not high-pitched) average male voice because yours seemed pretty deep.

Then again, the first time I heard Mich's, his seemed to deep for him, too, but I've come around to that. :P

Every other male on the board has seemed just about right for what I expected, I think.

Now, the rest of you, why in the heck are you not re-doing this? Tsk tsk.

I'm climbing in your window, snatching your people up.

Ah.

Funny, just tonight I was playing TF2 with some MLP friends and there was one who claimed to be in love with my voice. Not sure how to take that. =/
Luckily I am terribad at TF2 so I didn't play for very long.

When I listened to yours, I thought "Wow! He could narrate audio books!"

As a compliment, of course. You have a pleasant voice and your friend was just enthusiastically informing you of this.

Eeeh.... It was a little more extreme than that.

Remember that we're talking about /b/ here. :|

I was looking for an old video I made, stumbled across this different old video, and was reminded of this thread.
