I *think* it's a pink dogwood but I'm not positive. It's really pretty!

I'm in the cherry tree camp. Those blossoms are rather unlike the dogwood my parents have in their front yard.

Wee little toes and feet!!!

He was an active little bugger during the scan. The techs had a hard time getting him into position, because he kept flailing around.

They're both Will's books, but I love reading the Tartine Bread one : )

Is there something between Hot Sleep and First Meetings? Looks small...

Also! You're missing Seventh Son and Red Prophet! Those are the best of the series. :)

My brother is borrowing Seventh Son and Red Prophet (need to bug him to give them back). The thing between Hot Sleep and First Meetings is the April 1978 Analog magazine that has the original Ender's Game short story. It's wrapped in plastic since it's so old (almost as old as me!).

I'm definitely missing a few things, mostly newer books (like Empire) or older ones that I didn't enjoy (like Wyrms) and others (like Stone Tables). But I have read almost all, even if I don't own them.

Here is my OSC shelf.
You can fit them all on a single shelf? He takes up 4 on our bookcase.

Mine are all paperback (except the short story anthologies), do you have hardcovers? I think I have about 38 different ones.

I missed May, but here is June! I collected all of the books I've bought at Powell's since moving to Portland, as a way of narrowing them down.

I honestly swear there are more, but I can't find them.

Hmm, note to self: review the Amulet series in Comic Book Thread.

Of those, I don't have:
An Open Book
Characters and Viewpoint
Empire
Homecoming: Earth
Homecoming: Harmony
Masterpieces
Pathfinder
Ultimate Iron Man I
Ultimate Iron Man II
War of Gifts
Worthing Chronicle

And in addition, I have:
Capitol

Totally cheating and relocating a picture from the Nesting thread. (We have since gotten the rest of our books out of storage and there's an aproximately-three-feet-high stack of books on the floor running the length of the window, as well.

So I worked for two weeks in the city archives this month, and I took a picture of some of the shelves we audited:

Image

The earliest of those books starts sometime before 1371 (I can't recall the exact year and I know that's when the second book starts) and they run up into the 1800s, if I recall correctly. They are, excitingly, memoranda of the city.

Capture the "Things [you] Carry."

The things I carry, on a workday:

I assume you carry a lot of that in some type of purse/backpack? I really don't think you want me to empty out my entire purse. I carry a LOT in it. Although it neatly organized. Although, it IS the only thing I always carry with me. Sigh...I guess I can empty it out.

Backpack. I wouldn't know what to do with a purse.

But hey, you don't have to empty out the whole purse. Get creative! :)

Syphon totally stole my idea for last month's picture. I'm afraid to empty out my purse, I have no idea what's in there anymore... I'm not very organized...

You all have made me empty out my diaper bag. Thank you.

This is what I carry with two kids whenever I leave the house. It all goes in a backpack, except the carrier, Maggie goes in that.

Image

-Ergo Baby Carrier (side note to pregnant friends: best carrier out there)
-wallet
-keys (usually my car keys are on there, but Paul is out with the car right now)
-spray-on sunscreen
-change pad
-toys for Maggie
-spare soother
-receiving blanket
-wet bag for dirty diapers
-bib
-spare outfit for Maggie (sleeper and babylegs)
-wipes
-cloth diaper
-disposable diaper
-a tiny polar bear (for some reason)
-2 small books
-crayons
-pad of paper
-spare outfit for Ginny (pants, shirt, underpants, 2 pairs of socks)

Usually there is a snack in there too. In fact, I'm surprised there's not more stuff in there. :)
