Insomniac (formerly with Vampire Hunter D)

Postby AnthonyByakko » Fri Oct 27, 2006 1:08 am

While this may have only nostalgic value (and that only so far as "oldbies" are concerned), I don't care! So here it is, for those with graveyard shifts or somnatic disorders, INSOMNIAC!

All late night lurkers of PWeb have a dark corner of the Philotic alley to conversate about nocturnal issues - like infomercials and the like. Personally, I'm here pretty much all night, since I burn the midnight oil each weeknight working online. I find that I've perused all the topics here in Milagre as I did at Olde PWeb, and I've listened to too much classical music on NPR. Is there anything else to do on the Web at this hour?

Something about Steve Vai's music doesn't make me want to sleep....

Anyway, I would say downloading Final Fantasy Tactics and playing that, if you haven't. That has certainly taken up quite a bit of my time lately.

oh my GOD. When I was at my last night job (odd how I keep getting 3rd shift...) I played FF: Tactics Advance for over 250+ hours. I nearly wore out my GBA. Good lord... I kind of want to go pick up a GBA and FF:TA tomorrow, but... Oh, I just don't know. It's kind of a life-eating game, and took up my time outside of work as well, when I should be studying or something useful. But anyways, I really loved the game. I kind of did the same thing with Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2, which I would play for days at a time with Dream Theater playing in the background.

Heh, my internal clock is so screwed up from working second shift that "late night" for me is around 7 am.

I also have a tendancy to not want to change the date until I sleep. So right now it's still thursday the 26th and will be for a couple more hours until I go to bed. As far as I'm concerned, it won't be friday the 27th until I wake up in the afternoon.

Watching Man on Fire and Mystic River were definitely not worth being up at this hour.... bah, now I'm going to have practically no Saturday, just like I had practically no Friday.

FFT for the GBA was THAT good. D:

If I stay up, I'm usually playing Counter-Strike. I need to get back into consoles. Also, I just started playing with my DS and GBA SP again.

I'm going to be at work tomorrow at 4am like I was today. I think that counts, even though it's forced.

I watched the seconds tick by on my computer's clock this morning from 1:59 to 1:00.
That was so cool.

Except that I didn't see it change, I saw "1:50" and then "1:06". And I was beyond pleased.

Yeah, I don't I had ever done that before. I just happened to glance at it at about 1:59:40 and decided to watch it for the change. I'll have to try to remember to watch it again in six months when it jumps the other way.

And if there was ever any doubt, I think I just ensured myself to a sentence of eternal dorknation.

Ah. I thought about doing that, but I couldn't stay awake! What is this world coming to when I can't find the energy to stay up to 2 am. Wait, 1... a... m...

Can't sleep. It's just about 2am. I have to be up in 4 hours.

My mind is racing.

Tomorrow is going to officially suck.

it's only 12:15, but that's late for me. especially because i was up past 2am two nights this week! that never happens. i usually get 6-7 hours a night. and since i have class at 7:30 every day, that means going to bed by 11 or so.

and now i don't want to go to bed. i have to force myself. i start to worry when that happens...... because it's not like i'm doing anything productive. i'm just messing around.

if i'm not going to study, i need to sleep, because i have a ton of studying to do and i can't do it if i'm tired. *sigh*

Last night I was exhausted but couldn't sleep - and I swore I saw the clock jump from like 2:06 to 2:29. Unfortunately, that is not as exciting as seeing the clock jump during daylight savings time; it just means I'm delusional.

edit: 2 hours later, not feeling too tired. all the roommates went to bed. my first final is in 4.5 hours.... i'm scared. :( and the only problem is, i'll probably have another all nighter on tuesday night.

I didn't go to sleep until around 3:30 or 4 am, and I have been until for half an hour. I do not have the choice to go back to sleep until I get home at 4 (or 1, if my teacher takes a huge amount of pity on me).

just took my first final, have two more in the next couple hours. i don't think not sleeping was such a good idea. i don't think my finals are going to go too well today. i'm doing really well in two of my classes so it's ok, but i need to do pretty well on one of them. dang it.

i've stayed awake all night before and not had a problem, but i guess i'm still very sleep deprived from my 4 hour nights all last week..... i hate fall quarter. it's always the worst.

You have 3 finals in a day?! That's nuts.

We aren't allowed to have that many sheduled in a day. I think because they don't want us eating limbs off.

Wow...three finals in one day is crazy...I don't think my university lets you take two in one...cause every semester my professors are always asking if we need to reschedule if we have another final that...

And you're taking finals already...I'm jealous(well kinda)...we don't even start until next wednesday...

And for the sake of Insomnia...It's almost noon and no sleep for me...

those 3 finals are over.

2 more tomorrow.

i should stay up all night again tonight but i honestly don't know if i can make it. i studied all day today, starting at around 8:30 this morning. i took an hour break from 3-4 and another break from 8-9 to watch gilmore girls.

i am going to go crazy.

all i know is, i'm really going to need a drink tomorrow. and i rarely drink. as in, probably a total of 3 times since i turned 21, and once was on my 21st birthday.

edit: well, i ended up sleeping from 12:30-4:00. meant to get up at 3:30. oh well, either way, i don't have enough time to finish studying.... here goes my early morning cram session!

awesome bump...

I've not been asleep before 5am in a week now....

except last night, where - due to me exhausting myself at the club and being far too high for my own good - I was asleep at 430...

insomnia at it's best eh?
