Limeaid - Annexed? yay or nay?
Limeaid - Annexed? yay or nay?
Since the Canadian Alliance (which has long been the originators, purveyors and distributors of Limeaid) has become somewhat defunct, I propose that unless it revives itself, P-Web should annex the rights to Limeaid, so that any pwebber of rank or title (not launchie) may offer Limeaid to anyone they choose.
So, should Limeaid be subjected to the nefarious socialistic dictatorial eminent domain seizure by Pweb or should it remain the CA's?

Privatization is important. If they nationalize (pwebize?) the limeade industry, what's next?
Stop trying to destroy the traditional fabric of Pweb, Adam. Limeade shall always be the exclusive property of the Canadian Alliance to distribute however they see fit.
You can take their limes, but you'll never take their freedom!

Noodle clearly states that Limeaide comes from the CA.
Okay, maybe not so clearly as that's actually a little blurry looking to me there, but all the same, I prefer it to stay in the hands of the CA. There's something unsettling to me about just anyone giving it away.

Limeade can continue to be the CA's thing, if they want, but I don't see why anyone would really care. Frankly, the board is so slow, I think more members allowed to give the traditional welcome would be a good thing to minimize the chances of people being overlooked and to also encourage people who start posting to continue.
I don't see this so much as an issue of nationalization/privatization but more an issue of allowing formerly copywrited materal to eventually become public domain.
Am I the oldest non-CA member, by the way? I don't even remember who's in anymore.

Nope. Being Chinese is enough for me. Though I know somone who is completley obsessed with Japanese stuff. She calls people "Bakka" and started saying "un" as a "habit" She also draws these weird little animals and stuff you would find in those weird little Japanese shows. Not that I'm judging anyone...
You musn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.

I don't think I was ever a CA member, since I never played Calvinball or anything. I don't know if you mean oldest in age or on pweb but I think I beat you either way .Am I the oldest non-CA member, by the way? I don't even remember who's in anymore.
I don't really care but I know I've given out limeaid to people, tho I guess it might have been illegitimate limeaid.

Re: Limeaid - Annexed? yay or nay?
I actually annexed the limeaide a long time ago. We were discussing this thread last night in chat and I looked at it and noticed the new "bump" feature on the board. It looks like if you were the last person to post in a thread you can click "bump" and it will change the date of your post and move the thread to the top of the list without having to make a post that says *bump*
Re: Limeaid - Annexed? yay or nay?
Well I' bumping it with a post to the modern times...wait *dues off CA badge* there we go back to official talk.
I feel its a long standing tradition for any remaining CA members to offer limeaid to as a welcome and a refreshment to all new people. However considering that Sir Noodle has decided to share the limeaid greating with others the. Let me just say "Come sit with us and have a glass"

I think Noodle says it best.
As a launchie here, though not a newbie by any measure, I have long been aware that boards need to change with the times in order to survive.
If Pweb can offer the traditional refreshment in absence of the CA, then I say go for it. I just recently joined Pweb and I have received a welcome message or two from other members of the board, however I have yet to have been offered this refreshing beverage.
