Now that I look at the word "sweated," it looks weird. Is that right?
I think "I've never sweat so much" would be grammatically correct.

So, awhile ago I purchased, spur of the moment, a one-month subscription to Bootcamp Las Vegas for $30(normally $150). The only problem is, I don't know when to go! They offer 5am and 6am classes at a park that's about 15 minutes away, or 6pm and 7pm classes at a park that's about 5 minutes away. The early morning classes have the added benefit that you get a free yoga class on Thursdays afterward.

The only issues: I'd figuratively want to kill myself at 5am, and likewise at 6am. By 6pm I'm also tired and don't want to do anything.

Damn laziness.

As expected, it sucked. I've never worked out until I wanted to throw up before, and then pushed past it and did more.

I think I'll go back tomorrow. BUT I WON'T LIKE IT :x

And now I'm looking at vintage My Little Ponies on ebay, gasping outloud, saying the names of the ones I recognize, and forcing myself not to purchase. Which is much harder than I thought it would be.

nice I got fifteen on my last exhaustion attempt which was pretty much a month ago. I've been slacking too much in August, must remedy in December.

- slacking in August
- remedy in December

You meant... September right?

Anyways. Best recommendation I've gotten so far was to use weighted pullups with fewer reps for awhile. I was stuck at fifteen or so, then I started doing weighted pullups (for whatever weight you can do 6-12 reps) for awhile. Once I went back to bodyweight pullups the number was better.

I've never been able to do a single pullup and the last time I was able to use the monkey bars was an alarmingly long time ago.

The last time I tried to do either (and failed) ended up with me hanging from the bar and laughing at the patheticness of the attempt. I have the ultimate in spaghetti arms.

Likewise, I could barely do pushups the last time I tried; I peaked at 19, with the last one being so close to a failure that we'll say I only did 18.

hah, yes, I meant and was thinking September. :-p don't know how it happened I typed december.

I was planning on getting a weighted vest because Rippetoe recommends one once you can do three sets of fifteen pullups.

I did this program for six weeks and went from six pullups in one set to fifteen.

I went 6 out of 8 days so far with this boot camp thing. The two days I didn't go I could barely walk, and stairs were more of a challenge than I'd like to admit.

Totally beat my coworker though who only managed to go five days. IN YO FACE, OVERWEIGHT OUT OF SHAPE COWORKER!

I guess I'll keep going. Not sure if I'm losing weight. I'm sure I am. I just don't own a scale and don't plan on owning one. Maybe I'll start noticing changes in the mirror before the month is up.

After 2 months or so of not working out, I'm wondering how long it will take to get back to the same strength level I ended the last year on.

Two weeks in, and I'm still benching (which I will use as a benchmark) 40-50 pounds less than the end of last year. I figured actually using protein supplements, as well as muscle memory, would get me back to my previous strength level in no time. Hopefully by the end of this month.

I just started doing the couch to 5k. I actually had to buy sneakers to start it. I'm looking for a cheap treadmill on craigslist too because I know that there are incredibly few days that the temperature agrees with me to run outdoors.

So, getting up at 5:00am and working out 6 days a week? Great idea, Kel.

Sore muscles, sore muscles, sore muscles. My quads hurt SO MUCH. Sitting down is incredibly painful. See also: lifting my water bottle to my mouth, getting dressed, rolling over, stairs, breathing.

This is what happens when you start a hardcore work out regime after being woefully out of shape for years. But in the meantime, perhaps I need to install a handicap railing in my bathroom...

Brian and I have been working out in the mornings for 5 weeks. We're starting week number six right now. I was really sore the first week, but not so much after that. I do have more over all energy, so that's good. But it's really frustrating to have an extra 5 lbs and a larger tummy than before I started working out. Grrrrr.

A few scattered, pain-soaked thoughts from the past few days:

Suicides are aptly named. OMFG.

Working out at 5:00AM becoming slightly more bearable.

I freaking love chest flies. I feel like a rock star doing them.

In just a few days, my strength and endurance has increased by leaps and bounds. I am working my ass off. Literally.

Things I hate:

Supermans. These looks so easy that I'm shocked every time I do them, because they SUCK.

Suicides. UGH. No explanation needed.

Overhead Tricep Extensions. WHAT. I care barely make it through a full set of these, let alone three. These are the worst things ever.

Push ups and planks. When I was doing yoga constantly I could rock these out, no problem. Sadly, it's been way too long since I've done yoga. I can only do one or two military style push ups and then need to go to my knees. As for holding plank for a solid minute? HA. I was SHAKING today after about ten seconds. Oh, the pain.

Lunges of any kind, ever. Especially lunges with a torso rotation. UGH.

Things I love:

Chest flies
Lateral raises
Rows
Chair squats with weights

Just finished my cardio workout and I am DONE for the week. Tomorrow is my rest day, oh thank god.

I have never DRIPPED sweat before, despite what they say. Sure I've gotten sweaty working out before, covered in a gross, sweaty sheen. But there are RIVERS OF SWEAT pouring off my body right now. And it is disgusting. But I am DONE! NO MORE SUICIDES UNTIL WEDNESDAY! No more weights until...Monday. But still. Day off, day off, day off!

Add Running Man and Kick Outs with Arm Circles to the list of things I loathe.

My rest day was glorious. This morning's 5am workout was decidedly less so.

Today's workout does have some of my favorite moves, those being chest flies, lateral raises, and I'm even starting to enjoy standing abductions a little bit.

But oh god, the push ups and planks are still killer. My reps are way lower than they should be, and I seriously shake like a leaf when trying to hold plank. All the core strength I spent over a year building up is wiped out in just a few months and I've got to start all over. *sigh* I also hate bicycle crunches with a passion. And overhead tricep extensions are still ridiculous. WHO INVENTED THOSE AND WHY DID THEY HATE HUMANITY SO MUCH?

Skipping my cardio workout this afternoon to attend to wedding stuff, but tomorrow I'm back to two workouts a day. Oh my.

I got a treadmill on craigslist! So, I'm going to start doing the couch to 5k on Monday through Friday instead of three days a week to try and build up my endurance faster. I'm still doing the first week because I'm so out of shape...sigh.

Frisbee is back thanks to our exceptionally early beginning of summer. My legs got really scrawny over the winter - and evidently so did my cardiovascular system. Time to get back in shape.
