My sister was killed this morning by her boyfriend. If it's ok with you guys, I'd like to post about her once I feel more up to it.

So far all we've been able to do is just tell people and wait, so I'm telling people.

I... I don't know what to do. I'm afraid I'm going to say something or do something to make it worse for my parents.

Tell them you love them. I'm lucky enough to not know from experience, but tragedy often makes people lash out because they're hurting. Try not to get angry with them, and as much as possible, don't take it personally if they get angry around you. Remember that it isn't you.

I'm so, so sorry this happened to your family. I can't imagine how you must feel. Don't be afraid to post here. All my prayers are with you and your sister and your family.

Both sets of grandparents are on their way, along with cousins and aunts and uncles. It's going to get crazy around here for a while, so I might not be able to talk for a few days. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have people who I can talk to right now. I'll be back later.

They're releasing her tomorrow. We'll get to see her in the morning. Dad went to the arraignment today. He has a friend who's dating a sherriff, so we've got copies of the court documents. I still don't know the whole story, but I'll probably find out soon.

it's always weird when things like that happen to someone you know. i mean, that sort of stuff happens to OTHER people. i cannot comprehend the pain and sorrow you must be feeling. i won't even try. still, i extend my sympathy to you and your family.
