New Year's Resolutions

Talk about anything under the sun or stars - but keep it civil. This is where we really get to know each other. Everyone is welcome, and invited!

New Year's Resolutions

Postby Wind Swept » Wed Jan 02, 2008 11:49 pm

Is there really no thread for New Year's Resolutions? Search has failed me before...

My goal for 2008 is to land a summer internship at Pixar.

That would be so, so cool.

My resolutions are my most stereotypical of my entire life: eat better and exersize more. But I think I have more motivation this year.

Go to 80% of my classes? I'm not even joking, really, though my friend pointed out (and he's probably right) that 75% is a better number to shoot for. He knows me too well...

Get my oil changed at least three times.

Be kinder and more thoughtful towards my friends by:

~~~Calling people when they don't expect it.
~~~Returning calls promptly.
~~~Not thinking my sarcastic bitching is always funny, all the time.
Take my GTA and research team duties seriously.
MEMORIZE PRUFROCK.
2008 is the year. I turned 28 on December 28th right before 2008. This is an auspicious time. I've been memorizing bits and pieces here and there for over a decade. No more putting it off or losing interest. By the end of 2008 I will, at least once, have recited the entire thing, word for word, by heart.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...
~~Mary Chapin Carpenter
