Riding to school today, Alanis was playing on the radio, reminding me of the new break-up thread.

I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Here is the original Cafepress site that I set up to sell Canadian Alliance merchandise.
I still wear my Kill Evil Banned and Limeaide Enthusiasts shirts often.

They took down the Shatner shirt, but here's a link to the original image = http://mbj1.net/photos/pweb/william-small.jpg

It appears that every two years or so, this thread needs a bump.
Alea: Fall Out Boy, of course.
Kimmie: Rice football, more specifically Chase Clement. And cheese...and ninjas.
Jan and Paul: Any time Ginny is mentioned in HP.
Kelly: Any talk of the publishing and, oddly enough, when people go outside to smoke. Years ago you had a quote in your sig about cigarettes and good conversation. I can't for the life of me remember the quote, but it always stuck with me.
Ali: Any talk of Latin.
There are more to come.

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

This article or pretty much anytime I hear or see "Vibram FiveFingers" reminds me of elfprince.

This Fail reminds me of Kirsten and that gender/orientation discussion we had a while ago.

I was IMing with a friend who was complaining about her players (she's a GM). Then she told me about a character she created, how she was succubus with a 36D. Jokingly, i tried to find a way in english to ask her if that character's boobage was "supernaturally lifted", and i said:
-So, is she a gravity defier?
And here i muttered irl "oh god..."

The blog post below today's Sheldon comic totally reminds me of Nomi and her beardie. Actually most any beardie reminds me of Nomi. (Did I tell you I got to pet/hold one a few weeks back? SUCH a patient beastie with all the campers!) Anyway, now I'm going to think of Nomi every week when I see Nosh!

Awesome! What does Nosh look like? And how cool that you got to meet a beardie. Most are really patient, as long as they have been handled their whole lives. Pheeny will lets hordes of children grab and pet her and doesn't mind a bit.

Hee. Nosh is one of the aliens in the comic. He's a big, friendly dude with a Russian accent (got stuck in Moscow once without cab fare, for six years). I don't remember the name of the beardie I met in person, sadly.

Browsing wiki like a do sometimes, I came across IU's Lilly Library which instantly made me think of Ali. I checked their site and apparently it's one of largest rare book and manuscript libraries in the country, including a collection of medieval and renaissance manuscripts. You guys might want to consider a visit before you hop across the pond (even if you don't come far enough south to visit me ). The library and their collections are open to the public and right now several of their medieval works are on exhibit celebrating the library's 50th anniversary.

I do love manuscript libraries! They are so much fun to spend time in, but I find that unless I have a specific purpose, I don't really get the full enjoyment out of it. I can look at manuscripts in lots of places - I've got the credentials that generally will get me in regardless of exhibits. Or rather, will get me access to manuscripts and let me touch and explore them.
Not to knock the idea, mind! I wish I could come visit it. I'm sure I could find something to intrigue me. But the expense of pretty much any travelling at all is out right now.

I was checking the med logs today at work, and the AM med person's initials looked like "GD". Even before I could start thinking "whose initials are GD?" I had to remind myself that Alea does not work with me. Sadly.
