News of the Taal
I posted this over at Hatrack back when Pweb was floundering in Outer Darkness. But I thought y'all would like to know these 2 Juicy Tidbits:
1) - November 15, I will begin serving a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (I'm 24, and a convert of 2.5-ish years). I will be serving in the Washington, Seattle Mission, and be teaching in Spanish, which I don't know yet, but will learn during two prepratory months in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.
2) - I'm engaged (!!!). And to a girl who will also be serving a mission during the same period that I will be. So the general question as to 'will she wait' becomes much more of a moot point *grin* - She got the ring (and roses) a little over a week ago. We've known our plans for a while, but were waiting for her to have the Shiny Rock on her finger before we made it public.
I have enjoyed my time here at Pweb since we first created it, and look forward to rejoining the community upon my return. You guys have had an amazing effect on my life. Thanks for all the good times!
I'll still be here on and off until I leave, however. You haven't seen the last of me...

As you know I am extremely happy for you. I hope you have a great time during your mission. Take care of yourself and we will still be here upon your return. I am sure I speak for many others when I say that we look forward to hearing of your wedding details, which will likely be ironed out upon your return.

That's awesome Dave. You're coming to Seattle? Hehe, hope you like rain. That's all it does around here.

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

Closer than me? Frankly, shawn, i'm insulted.
Congratulations Taal, give them hell. Or heaven, i guess, would be more fitting. And congratulations to you and your lovely lady.

The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).
