Will you be 18 by 2012 and not living at home? If not, don't bother. As much as I'd like to be welcoming of everyone, that stops when it involves minors or those in high school.
And just a warning but you guys need to take the 2017/9 talk elsewhere. This is for discussions involving dates in the next 2.5 years or so, not to mention those who are in a position to act on anything decided.

I'll be 18 on May 5, 2011, but where does the not living with parents come in? I've heard from many people that a person having their own house at 20 is unlikely. I also don't want to put myself in deeper student loan debt just to be away from my parents at college.

It was more a marker for, "are you going to be in high school?" or "are you going to need your parents' approval?"
If you are 18+ and your involvement in a gathering doesn't drag them or their need to give you permission into things, you're welcome to be involved. I speak for myself on that, however.

Well... technically if Sonic can go, I can definitely go at 16. Besides, where are the other posters? If anything, I had plans going on up to 2017... Not real or unmovable, plus 2051 was a joke. This leads me back to... Did you decide on anything?

No. I can't see any reason whatsoever why any adult on this board would want to start involving people who need permission slips to go. I don't care how old your brother is and honestly, I don't even care if your parents don't have a problem with it. If you are under 18, NO.Well... technically if Sonic can go, I can definitely go at 16.
You don't read all that well. This August is the first attempt. Josh or someone else will be in charge of the 2011 attempt. Josh or someone else will be in charge of the 2012 attempt. That is as far into the future as I want to see any discussion.Did you decide on anything?
Don't like that, go make a different thread and discuss there.

It was suggested I move the important stuff to the opening post, so that's been done.
Steph, dear, when you have time (and don't feel rushed), if you wouldn't mind giving some suggestions for things to do in the Denver area. Someone asked me off the board what we could possibly find to do for three whole days if they decided to stay the same length of time I'll be there.
If it's possible to provide a somewhat rounded out list of things to do (arts/Museums, nature/national parks, sports, etc.), that would be very much appreciated.
Wil has suggested the waterpark.
My only request is that I get to see some of the architecture (old, new, whatever)/sky-rises. Depending on when others show up, if they do, that can be something I do alone.

Things to do in Colorado (off the top of my head) in no particular order:
Denver Zoo - We go here ALL the time. It is a fabulous zoo!
Denver Museum of Nature and Science - Right next to the zoo. Lots of cool museum-y stuff.
Denver Art Museum - In downtown. I haven't seen all the renovations, but I assume it's awesome.
Water World - A seriously fun water park!
Elitches (Amusement Park) - My Grandpa used to go to dances at Elitch Gardens. It's a Colorado Icon.
Casa Bonita - A must-do. The food is nasty, and the entertainment cheesy, but you CAN'T miss it! It's LEGENDARY! (Besides, they have all-you-can-eat sopapillas. And they aren't nasty. They're yummy!)
Rocky Mountain National Park/Estes Park including The Stanley Hotel - One of our country's beautiful National Parks. Estes Park is the town right next to it with fun tourist shops. The Stanley Hotel is where Stephen King wrote The Shining and where parts of Dumb and Dumber were filmed.
Colorado Rockies - We could hit up a game. I think they're playing Brewers that weekend?

You can visit my lake! I don't remember which one it is, but it's at the end of one of the trails in RMNP. It's water and it's in a park, that should satisfy Wil.

Meh @ Zoo. Seen one, seen them all.
Oooh @ DMNS.
Meh @ Art Museum.
YESS! @ Water World.
YESS! @ Elitches Amusement Park.
Oooh @ Casa Bonita. It was on South Park.
Oooh @ Stanley Hotel.
Meh @ Colorado Rockies. Not one for sports.
Also, just an idea, and it is kind of silly, but whenever my family would go to a new big city we would all do a city tour. They pick you up from your hotel, and they drive you around pretty much all day in a tour bus to see the different sights of the town, maybe even stopping for a short time at different places to eat and explore, all the while giving you a history of the city. I always enjoyed them. *shrugs*

Thank you for the list. I'll let others give opinions on it all; I'm not so picky.Things to do in Colorado (off the top of my head) in no particular order

I'm going to have to fall on the Maybe/Maybe Not end of that spectrum. As a soon to be college drop out, I'm not at all certain how I will be standing financially by that time. Also, I'm definitely in the Not at Alll category if mountains are involved. Denver is fine, high altitudes make me unpleasant.

Bad news on the prospects of me coming to Colorado. There was a meeting yesterday with my boss's boss. They are aggressively reorganizing the area that I work in. Meaning, by September, the area in which I work will ultimately be gone. As much as the plan was laid out, there was very little on the specifics. But by September, it is very likely that I could be out of a job...or I could not. I don't really know at this point. This kind of came out of no where, but I can't devote funds toward a vacation that I might now have to live off of. This sucks majorly because I was excited about the trip, but definitely falls in line with my luck. There is a meeting with my boss tomorrow. Hopefully, I get more details then. And hopefully I'll know exactly what is going on before August so I can still book the trip. But as of right now, I just don't f****** know.

Yep. 12-16. PM me your number and i'll figure out something cheap to do and we'll let you know. I'm not sure what time her flight is on Monday, so I don't know what kind of time we'll have then. We'll figure something out.

*cough* Ahem.
I would like to take a moment to inform everyone that they should be highly jealous of me at the moment.
Smells in my adopted kitchen include the awesome aroma of lasagna, made by one Eggbalancer, with preparation by Steph.
Erica (blueantoidgirl) is here, as is her cool, soon to be a Pwebber boyfriend. Speaking of, he is currently playing Lego Star Wars with mister Tyler - one of the coolest 5 year olds you'll ever meet. Well, not you guys because you suck and didn't come. But I met him and he's cool.
More to come later. But, as I said, be jealous.
