Woo, ice storm! You could probably go ice skating in the parking lot if you wanted to.
We got off work a little early tonight and the plant is shut down both shifts tomorrow due to the weather. It's been sleeting all day and, although it's warmer now than it was when I went to work in the afternoon, it's supposed to cool off again tomorrow and dump another load of snow/ice.

May I just have a moment of ranting?
Because New York needs to make up its' frikkin' mind already. If it would like to be Spring, then it should be Spring. If it would like to be Winter, then it should be Winter. It should NOT do all of this mushy hail/rain/not-really-snow-snow and "I'm temptingly sunny and yet I will suck every ounce of warm from your body" business.
I am sick and tired of all of this damn thermal equivocation.
Ok, I'm done now.

Last week I was in BC and the crocuses were blooming, and even on the mountains the daffodils were coming up out of the ground. Then I returned here and the snowbanks were almost down to 12". Now they're going back up to over my head. Bitter? Why yes. Crocuses are a FEBRUARY FLOWER darnit!

Belatedly, no. It doesn't have a heater. And, even if it did, when I wrote that I was staying over night in a small town in Minnesota, so it was parked in the hospital parking lot.Do you plug it in overnight?
It STARTED.
Dude. My car broke down a million times the first year I got it. Neither the odometer nor the speedometer nor the passenger side mirror work.
It started cold after being left outside overnight in -33 degrees.
It is the best car in the world.

I'm soooo jealous!Arghhhh, snow is trying to make me fail exams for the second time this winter. We could possibly get a FOOT of snow, which I've probably never seen in central or southern Ohio.

Nearly 40 today! Soon, soon, soon it will be weather I'd be willing to ride my bike in! Which will give me another alternative to the damn exercise videos/DVDs! Which is good, as my DVD player appears to have died.

It's snowing. Real, honest-to-goodness snow. Snow that stays on the ground.
Hahaha, people here are going to be so freaked out by the inch or so of snow. It'll probably make headlines.

Speaking of weather, you know what I hate (and this could really go in two threads)? When it hails, and you (being the astute person that you are) point out as much, and someone nearby says "You call this hail? This isn't hail! Where I come from the hail is always as big as golf balls!" Really, you can substitute anything you want in for hail. Is it truly necessary to be competitive in that? Wouldn't that make you lose for being from such a place?

You call that annoying? That's not annoying! Where I come from the competitiveness is always as big as golf balls!
But seriously, I do know someone who tends to do with with every form of cold weather around here. I think everyone around him has learned to never mention that it's cold, or that there's a lot of snow, or whatever. I can sympathize, Mich.

I celebrated too soon. Thirties for the rest of the week. And random snow at intervals. Also, for the first time this season, I fell on the ice yesterday. I'm so disappointed. I wanted to get through one season without that happening and this is my last one here, in all likelihood (although, I suppose it technically is spring, so that wouldn't count, except I know better and cannot claim a moral victory over gravity.)

I didn't say I wanted a blizzard for YOU but here in upstate NY we have only had one respectable (meaning at least a foot) snow storm all winter and I really want at least one more. We usually have way more snow than this. Stupid dumb stupid weather.

No, here is Toronto, where we've seen multiple snow storms in one week.
Speaking of which, apparently a few people in Montreal have died this winter from roofs collapsing under the snow. Some schools were even closed for fear of it at one point.

It's actually looking like spring here. Sunny, cold, and the flowers are starting to bloom. On some days I can even see our mountain!
