Serenity (Collector's Edition)
Prerequisite paranoia: I did a search on Serenity and didn't find any threads for discussion of the movie, just an MMO.
I'm both highly annoyed and stupendously happy, mostly the latter. You see, I was under the impression that Serenity was going to be available as a double-disc almost immediately...and, well, it wasn't. I held off buying the movie for over a year in the hopes that it would be released as a double-disc, and finally gave in sometime around March or April of this year. So of course, this comes out. But that's okay. I'll buy this too.

I'll buy it. I want the extra extras. Plus, I'm a packrat and a collector. I don't mind having multiple copies of a thing as long as there's some sort of substantial difference.

I want to support the brown coats, but I have this thing that I don't buy Collector's Editions if I have the movie already. If I buy it after the CE comes out, then I buy the CE. For instance, I waited until the Director's Cut of Alien Vs Predator came out before I bought it.

... but you BOUGHT Alien Vs. Predator, which kinda calls into question everything you hold dear to do with films.I want to support the brown coats, but I have this thing that I don't buy Collector's Editions if I have the movie already. I really enjoyed the commentary. I haven't had time to sit and watch any of the other special features yet (aside from the Fruity Oaty bars bit), but I'm really looking forward to them. I do wish the extra scenes had been re-integrated back in, but you can't win them all. And the case is so pretty!

Isn't it, though? I'm about one step away from covering the thing in a cloth to protect it.And the case is so pretty!
(Mostly joking about that...)
My issue is, because Firefly/Serenity wasn't around for so long, a lot of interviews and clips get used over and over again, so I feel like I'm watching the same thing time and time again. Even when there is new stuff thrown in.

Bought it, it's great. I espessially loved the commentary by the cast.
Just so you guys now, Alan Turdyk (sp?) who played Wash went on record today saying that Universal is encouraged by the special edition sales and as a result there are rumors of a sequel... Though it may be straight to dvd, anything at this point I believe is a miracle. So, if your a fan of the series/movie and want to see it continue get out there and buy the special edition. On top of it being a very well put together dvd it's actually creating interest in a sequel. It's a win win for any browncoat.
Salaam
