Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
You know how when you accomplish something and you tell someone else about it and they're like "That's cool." with no enthusiasm in their voice whatsoever because either they're jealous or they just don't get how much effort it took? Or maybe they even are enthusiastic but it still feels hollow somehow because no one understands it like you understand it? This thread is to share (read: brag about) those things.
I just administered a WAIS-III today. To a real live person who is depending on me to tell her her IQ. I am awesome.
Also, I put air in my tire by myself for the first time.

When I finally got the Wayback to work, my name was on the screen as the last person to post on PWEB under Dear Bob. I don't think I actually was the last person to post on Pweb 2.0, but it's nice that Wayback thinks so.

I drank an entire cup of rite-of-passage funny smelling tea that you can't buy in America and I liked it.
If you ever find yourself reading a book entitled The Bible, you will find yourself reading the story of Adam and Eve, whose daring lives led them to put on clothing for the first time to escape from the snake infested garden in which they were living.

Okay, this is a triumph that hopefully other people WILL understand (as I'm going to be talking about it a lot) but I figured it goes here because, well, it's a personal triumph. And no one will ever get it just like I get it. Anyways. Here goes. Remember quals? That test with the August 6th due date? The five 10 page essays?

I chose, cooked, and cleaned up an entire dinner for my friends last night. Without asking how they cook things or anything like that.

And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

I am doing fairly well in handbells, though my form is lousy. I talked to three people about the nebulous ideas I've got, got three good answers, need to talk to a couple more people before I do anything. Well, and the opportunity has to present itself, too.

I proved myself last night at the poker table. It was six gun-toting Republican men and lil' ol' me. And I made it to the top three. I don't care what anyone says, a girl who can play poker, smoke a cigar and drink Wild Turkey whisky is a woman to be reckoned with. I succeeded in being a Sexy Thing.

It's been at least a month and a half since I've watched any television. I suppose this isn't really a triumph... since it's really easy because there aren't a lot of TVs around me, but I still feel good about it. I didn't even really notice that I hadn't until today.
