I should probably confess that I've only had maybe one Cadbury egg in my life, mini or otherwise. I should probably remedy this so I feel slightly less ridiculous for touting the wonders of the Easter season....

I'm pretty sure I had one as a child and didn't like it. I mean, I love junk food but the fact that I never even remember these exist tells you something about the impression they left.

I agree that Mini Eggs are where it's at. Cadbury chocolate in general is so tasty. I also love the Fruit & Nut bar. Now I want one.

Completely agree, although just one of those is normally enough to kill my tongue with sugar. They are tasty for that first egg, though.

I can't do more then one!

When I was little I would spend forever getting all the caramel out so I could use the chocolate egg as a scoop for my milk : )

This makes me sad.

Unrelated to the link, I recently printed out and put on my refrigerator a picture I saw floating around Facebook of a nude woman with a sign that reads "If a size 2 is beautiful, then my size 22 is glorious." Or something like that. It's not so much that I think I am that size -I'm closer to the size 2 than 22- but that I hope I can internalize the attitude that not-twig is still beautiful.

I have full confidence in your attitude internalizing ability. Not-twig is gorgeous!

Also, I don't know how a size 2 is even possible, unless they're using a different sizing system than me. I know some petite girls who fit in that category, but I don't understand how that size exists otherwise. But maybe that's just my ghetto booty talking.

When I went through my uber-depression about 5 years ago, I actually was wearing a size 0/1 (5'4" and 100lbs). BUT, I hadn't lost the weight on purpose, I just can't eat when I'm stressed/anxious/depressed. And people told me that I looked too thin and should gain weight. The funny thing is that I weighed the same then that I did when I graduated HS and it didn't look unhealthy at that point. I guess my body just changed. But I know I look much better now at a size 6ish (though it's always tough to gain weight).

A short while ago, I saw this little documentary that goes by the name "Miss Representation" and now I want to talk about it. This means, at least one or two of you should watch it and then meet me back here to discuss. :P

Alea! I watched the movie last week. It was really good. Parts of it reminded me of the book, Pornified. Anyway...discuss.

Also, on topic, I was home today and felt like eating all day long. I definitely eat much less on days that I work.

I have forgotten most of what I wanted to discuss, haha...

I do remember, though, that there seemed to be a statistic they presented that rang false to me; something about the total percentage of women with eating disorders being in the 60 or 70 percentiles....that seems too high. I thought it was in the single digits or low double digits at best.

Yeah, I can say categorically that would be false. The number who have engaged in some kind of disordered eating behavior, perhaps. But that's a long, far ways away from having a full blown, diagnosable eating disorder.

I can agree on with both Alea and Kirsten. I don't have an eating disorder but as a wrestler engaged in behaviors ranging from exercise bulimia (not forced vomiting but exercising to the point of loosing 7-11 pounds a week) and anorexic like behavior as well. very minimal food intake. i always ate every day never starved for days but I lost the sense of feeling hungry at some point along the way.

So I had the behaviors. but not the mental issues to pair with it. it was only during the season to make weight. and only on weight making weeks. so while 95% of wrestlers also do the same thing (some going to the point of vomiting, diet pills, water pills, laxatives, food and water starvation) I'd say a very small % of male and female wrestlers actually have eating disorders because we are very happy to drop these habits the second the wrestling season ends and put on 20+ pounds for swim suit season

I wish I could drill this sentiment into the brain of every girl I know.

Barney's, with Disney's permission, decided they needed to go for "realism" when using cartoon characters with their fashion. They are 5'11", size "0."

Way to push this level of lollipopism as realism.

So, so disgusted.

The sentiment is nice, but maybe should be more "woman are gorgeous at any size". The slight difference is that there are women who are small (and non-curvy) naturally.

One of my best friends growing up is a twig. She has a VERY healthy appetite and never works out. I am always completely surprised by the amount of people that don't hesitate to tell her she's wasting away and that she would be so pretty if she just put some meat on her bones (which infuriates me because she is gorgeous!). Even though i'm the complete opposite of her (I can eat nothing but healthy food and still gain weight like crazy) we have always really clicked on the issue of weight because it's been a struggle all of our lives. The thing that has always astounded me is she gets WAY more negative public comments for being a twig then I ever do for being overweight.

I tell zero all the time to eat more, gain weight, etc. It never even occurs to me that I'm being kind of a bitch, even if I mean it jokingly, until well after I've said it. It doesn't bother him but it does bother me that I'm okay with that double-standard where it's okay for me to comment on his weight but he can't comment on mine.

He doesn't, however, understand the struggle with having a healthy relationship with food that I've had for a good part of my life, so he thinks I could be thin if I really wanted to be.

Amen, sistah.

On another note, I get confused in movies and whatnot when they talk about a girl's weight. I watched One for the Money over the weekend and there was some line about Katherine Heigl's character being 125 lbs, 130 tops. Maybe I have a terrible sense of mass or an exaggerated view of my own skinniness, but I do not know how any woman with her height and bust could possibly be the same weight as my short, flat-chested self (albeit with a set of baby-birthing thighs, but still).

Likewise, I've read Bridget Jones' Diary several times and only recently translated the "pounds and stones" and found out that her "fat frumpy self" is less then 130lbs.

I have gained four pounds in the last couple weeks. I am at my highest in over ten years. Not happy at all. I blame most of it on nightly pie. But in general, I have gotten used to eating whenever I feel like it, as opposed to waiting until I feel hungry to eat. I used to be really good at that and have gotten away from it. I'm starting to use food in more unhealthy ways, I think. Eating when I'm bored, mostly, or not feeling well. So, back to waiting until I feel actual hunger pangs. Wonder how long (if) it will take to drop five pounds? I've never really tried to lose weight before.

yeah... I weigh as much now as when I gave birth. Both times. I have always had a high metabolism and everyone always told me it would catch up to me when I got older... but at 24 yrs old ive put on thirty lbs in 6 months... and im like... "it didnt just slow down it damn near STOPPED." I love junk food as much as anyone else but I havent changed my eating habits (which arent terrible btw) in over 6 years... so what gives?? I gained so much weight so fast that I literally took a pregnancy test 3 months ago thinking i MUST be pregnant (my BC stops my monthly)...becuase how else in gods name could i have gained so much weight in such a short time when before I couldnt gain weight if my life depended on it... and thats the Gods honest truth. So...good news! Not pregnant...just getting fat.

I've noticed that settling into long term relationships is not always good for one's motivation to stay fit. The more time I spend with my girlfriend the more likely I am to put on 5 or 10 pounds from making more delicious food together, and spending more time cuddling instead of playing frisbee.
