Very cool about the bird of prey (probably a hawk) attacking the smaller bird, I've never seen that in person. And yes, you have cardinals. Though, if it was only a bit of red then it could also be house finches. Cardinals are bigger, all red (the males) and have that tuft on top of their heads. My yard birds have all abandoned me! Grrr.

As far as I could tell, this fellow was all red with a black head/face but it's hard to be sure, what with his hopping around and being covered by the bush at times.

I finally got everyone in my family to read Ender's Game, on the threat I wouldn't take them to see the movie until they did.

A girl in my class wants to name her baby Kinley if it's a girl. I was all excited because I know a Kinley...then I realized that I actually haven't met Steph or her children..

You could remedy that, you know.A girl in my class wants to name her baby Kinley if it's a girl. I was all excited because I know a Kinley...then I realized that I actually haven't met Steph or her children..
And it is a great name!

Re: Random things that remind you of PWEB or people here
So...this one is going to sound strange (and perhaps it is, just a bit) but whenever I use a public restroom and they don't have seat covers, making me pull out toilet paper to cover the seat, I think of Jason. Because I'm pretty sure this conversation happened on the board but I once complained about lack of seat covers in public restrooms and having to squat over it and not sit...and then he made me look and feel like an idiot by asking why I didn't just put toilet paper down.
I also thought of him when I walked by a store near the theater that was advertising bikinis that were superhero themed/based/whatever. I figured he'd fall in love with any girl who wore one for the love of the superhero.
Today was a Jason-y day.

And I just sit on the toilet. I wipe off any stray urine splatters first, though. But that's about it. I don't even use seat covers if they have them available.

Re: Random things that remind you of PWEB or people here
I'm pretty weird about bathrooms in general, I've heard, but I'm not a huge fan of sharing bathrooms, even with people I know. I'll do it and it doesn't weird me out outright but if I had a choice, I'd have my own bathroom for all of time.
However, the idea of public bathrooms that don't provide the seat covers makes me think I may as well pull down my pants and do a skin-to-skin ass bump with whoever used the toilet before me. All [n] of them. *shudder* No thanks!

There's actually more bacteria on the average doorknob/handle than on the average public toilet seat.

I love this entire conversation.
Also, is it a problem that a bare booty bump with a complete stranger doesn't sound weird to me? The act of pulling down my pants to do so does, but the actual contact? Not so much.

I can't WAIT until I get myself a kitchen in the fall.
Also, my mom just shared with me that one of our family friends just gave what was pretty much a "Speaking" (and consciously wrote it to be such).

I was at my grandparents' house this weekend and took this picture for Alea. See, your pink bathroom isn't so bad after all.

*laughs* I feel strangely at home seeing that bathroom, though I'm pretty jealous of the sink setup.

I signed up for the listserve. Today's email was about Diva Cups. It would have been a significantly weirder afternoon if Pweb hadn't already prepared me for such discussions.

I feel I'm spending too much time here when the text editor we're modifying, EWOKS, makes me think of here before Star Wars.

This book review on my friend's blog reminded me of all my introvert friends here on pweb.

Amen. For me, it can even be uncomfortable if it's a small social gathering but I only know one or two of the people. Then all the energy it takes to be warm and friendly and get to know everyone on a more deep, personal level becomes exactly as exhausting in being in a large crowd. For instance, (and here I recognized myself), most introverts like social situations, but not large, impersonal social situations. They want an opportunity to connect on a deeper level with a few people, rather than have surface conversations with many people.

I feel like I need to take a picture of this Sunday morning before the library is officially open but the tiles in the women's restroom in the YS department are definitely a game of Tetris. This reminded me of Shannon when I noticed it.
