Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
I have kept my house (pretty much) clean for a whole 2 weeks. Sure, there are messes, but I'm going to bed every night with a picked up house and tackling more deep cleaning projects than normal.

That is the BEST feeling, steph. I've fallen off the cleaning bandwagon lately. Time to get back on!

I finally got all the empty boxes out of my apartment.
I also did a load of laundry and went grocery shopping.
Yes, these are triumphs like you wouldn't believe. The biggest one of all is yet to come, when I do the dishes.

Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
Besides moving for two people, I'm pretty sure you were also moving while fully employed; I had 5 days to unpack before I started work (though, honestly, I was 90% done the same day my stuff arrived)...plus, I couldn't rest until everything was in its proper place. So, yeah. Besides the 2 boxes in "storage" (my closet) and the 1 box of stuff in the dining room that is awaiting more shelving in the distant future, I'm all unpacked. These boxes have been empty for quite some time, at least a week and a half, but I was too tired to get them outside before today.
I am Super-ewok.

That's totally how I unpack, too, Alea. I just can't stand having boxes laying around and things not in their proper place. We had the new house totally unpacked in 3 days with Nate's stuff. I imagine it will go equally quickly when we add my stuff.

Exactly. I don't feel settled and out of the transitory state unless things are taken care of properly.I just can't stand having boxes laying around and things not in their proper place.

On a whim, I applied for a position on the Obama 2012 campaign a few weeks ago.
Got an email today saying I made it past the resume/portfolio review portion of the process, and would I please complete a skills assessment to continue the process.
I just totally rocked the skills assessment.
I'm failing miserably at not getting my hopes up.

My bookshelf ran out of space, so I had to take apart the closet.

I finally shaved my legs. It has been at least two, maybe three weeks.

Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
I finally figured out what to do for my best friend's wedding. When my other best friend's wedding rolled around, I busted out the best thing I could think of. It was awesome. This time, I lack resources for what I did before, plus I have an aversion to repeating myself. I don't know if this one's as awesome, but it does give it a run for its money.
I better start planning now for the next one.

The terrier! Oh my gosh. That's all but stopped, thankfully, we were both going nuts. Basically, I wad not aligning how I held the breast with his mouth direction.
We aren't totally perfect yet. He gets mad and we both get frustrated when I try to nurse lying down. I want to so badly but it always ends in wails and tears.
Also, he is sooo eager to get milk going, he ends up propelling himself away from me with hands and feet. Mommy laughs cruelly. The first three times.

Don't worry, he will settle in! I think Nom was 5 or so weeks old before it occurred to me to nurse her lying down, so perhaps she would have been less happy about it if I'd tried it earlier.
Meanwhile, I continue to fire off long-delayed emails like a boss.

Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
-I've started exploring the city(Atlanta) that my college is in a lot more! I've been stuck, complacently, in my college bubble since Freshman year. Mostly because the friends I hang out with on the weekend don't have cars, and I'm fine with simply doing work, watching tv, playing video games, and playing sports on the weekends. All of which I can do on campus.
But now, I've decided to stop being stingy with my money, rent a taxi, and do fun stuff in the city. On Friday, one of my good friends took me to this place called The Chocolate Bar in celebration of my birthday. Then we went to get food at this other restaurant/bar; I felt so sophisticated, like Barney and them in How I Met Your Mother lol.
-Planning on doing this Sophmore Pre-law program this summer. Assuming I get in, this will be the first time I actually willingly plan on doing something academically beneficial during the summer. Instead of simply planning on sleeping, chillin, watching tv, and other lazy shenanigans.
-Weighing in at 162 and max benching 225! I have friends saying ridiculous stuff like "how'd you get so big? Must be genetics...", Like you realize I was ridiculously skinny for my whole life, clothes not fitting properly, ect. until like the middle of freshman year? That all my working out had failed till I came to college? You've forgotten how skinny I used to be? lol
-Managed to finallly get a job at the place I've been rejected twice from. Managed to get pledges from alumni, after like 2 weeks at the telefund. It's like a daily occurrence now!
Last, but not least, I've upped - what I like to call - my Kvothe Quotient. That is, how similar I am to the fictional character. (when I really love a book character, I tend to want to be like them lol. I used to be like "What would Ender do?", but now I've moved on to Kvothe from the Name of the Wind)
Ways I'm like Kvothe:
1. Going to a ridiculously expensive top University that's filled with ridiculously rich people, despite not being rich myself.
2. Decently intelligent. (Kvothe's like a genius, top of his class, so I'm kinda failing in this aspect)
3. "that's because when it comes to girls, you know nothing lolz" I also apparently know nothing about girls! But am learning.
4. In a General Martial Arts class. Learning Martial Arts like Kvothe! Bonus points: My instructor is also an attractive woman.
5. Awkward reactions to girl's hitting on me, like Kvothe in that bar in Wise Man's Fear!
I'm just missing musical talent, an arch-nemesis, studying abroad, and being trained in the womanly arts by a sex goddess.

Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
I got myself a little birthday present. After a year with a secured card, I checked my credit scores and was instantly approved for a Chase Freedom Visa card. No annual fee, cash back and I'll get $200 bonus cash back if I spend $500 in the first three months (which I probably will without even trying, gas alone runs me $200-250/month). Now it just needs to get here so I can cancel the old card before they charge me with the annual fee in a couple weeks and free up the security deposit.
The enemy's fly is down.

I won the award for "Best Dressed" and "Drama Queen" at a murder mystery party last night. (Although, the hostess gave one of the awards to the runner up as if they were the winner and just informed me later that I actually won both categories.) There were only 4 awards total and I won 2 of them.

Re: Those Personal Triumphs No One Else Will Ever Understand
I gave my cat a bath.
Because he starting having horrific diarrhea on Friday or Saturday while I was gone. It was everywhere. EVERYWHERE. My entry way, spots all over my carpet, on the cat tree, on the TV stand, on my (closed) laptop, on my bed curtains, on my windowsill, on my bed spread (which my best friend/cat sitter washed for me), all over my bathroom, and all over the back of my cat.
I cleaned it all up out of my apartment. And I managed to wash almost all of it off him before he had hit his tolerance. Then I gave him some space for a while (and took a shower). Then I helped him dry himself by brushing him (we'd already towel dried. But I didn't want him licking himself that much and just making things worse.) Then he flung cat litter in my eye. Then I washed out my eye.
And now he's locked in the bathroom because he's still having diarrhea.
I think we're going to the vet tomorrow. It's so annoying to be so close and not able to actually do anything.

I finished the sign-in page for my forthcoming Windows Phone application, complete with animations, progress indicator and more.
This represents a major hump in my Windows Phone development career. It's been six weeks of beating my head against the keyboard to get to this point.
