Apparantly Viggo Mortenson was being courted, and now possibly Harrison Ford is being considered in the mix. Holy freaking crap.

POTENTIAL MOVIE SPOILER:
Anyone know if they're still going the GRAFF IS MAZER route? If so, this makes a lot more sense...

I see in another thread that others see Petra as having a darker complexion. But I always thought that about Graff. More of a Danny Glover or Forrest Whitaker type.

Also, apparently my spoiler comment is moot. The Kingsley stuff makes it look like Graff and Mazer are, once again, different people.

And it looks like someone is trying to steal Harrison Ford for 42. I hope our team wins.

Already stole him. He accepted the role. Maybe he will do both.

I hope he doesn't, I'm not real high on Ford as Graff. In answer to the Mazer is Graff thing, since they're negotiating with Ben Kingsley for the role of Mazer it looks like Graff and Mazer are back to being two separate characters again.

I hope they can get Mortensen as Graff he's such a phenomenal actor (steals every scene often without saying much at all in Dangerous Method), Chris Cooper would be another stellar option. Not crazy about the idea of Ford as Graff.

I don't know if I like this choice. The kids all look fine but I don't know. I love Harrison Ford, don't get me wrong, but I have a hard time seeing him as Graff.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Not a big fan of this casting... Like Taal, I was really hoping for Viggo Mortensen (he has a compassion about him that's evident in his voice that would make him my ideal choice for Graff), but I suppose they could do far worse. I'm just worried they're going to turn Graff into a complete hardsass...

I love Ford because he is in two of my favorite and best trilogies, but this makes me nervous. Honestly, what is the last really good movie he has been in?

I think he'll do fine if they can give him a good script. A lot of his recent movies have suffered from craptastic scripting.

I'm with you on this point. Fantastic actors can't rescue a terrible script (Jeremy Irons as Brom, anyone?), and good script can make even bad actors look okay.

Also, let's remember that he is not only Indiana Jones + Han Solo, but also Deckard.

I agree that Viggo (basically Aragorn) would have been perfect. I think Ford can be ok as Graff as long as they don't make the movie about him. There's a tendency to give screen time in descending order of salary.

I saw this today:

(for the record, I feel the cussing on his shirt is inappropriate and just looking at it makes me a little ashamed)

Think this picture is real (as in not photo-shopped?
And if he's over it, then why's he playing Graff?

"Over it" as in over Ian McKellen (the implication being that Harrison Ford had awesomer roles, hard to argue with that).

Yeah, but you can't make the joke with Deckard.
