I'm used to the idea of snow and cold for Halloween, but rain is a new thing.

Re: How about that weather, then, eh?
I'm kind of annoyed. We got a freeze warning, so I went out and watered my tree, to warm it up and hopefully prevent another "death" that would mean starting all over for the third time (lordy, my tree is like Pweb, with the crashing and all that) and it's barely below 50 out right now. What kind of crap is that?

It is unseasonably warm in DC. I love it, but it's really confuing me wardrobe-wise. I am not used to 60 degrees in December anymore!

It's a lovely sunny day all day, and then when it gets close to when Rei needs to cycle home (he's still unwell, mind), the rain starts and the wind picks up.

It's snowed at least a foot while I have been home for Christmas. I love it.

Maybe a little. I've invested in some warm clothing, though, so I think I'll survive. :)

It finally got cold, and snowed for the first time.
However, its supposed to be at least 50 again by the end of the week. Weird weather.

Super windy with spitting rain, here. But not a bad as Scotland as I hear it which is windier and possibly snow.

Yesterday the river was well up. I'm looking forward to seeing where it is at, today (and am somewhat glad to be a decent ways uphill).

Re: How about that weather, then, eh?
Loving the beautiful spring weather we're having lately. I enjoyed the afternoon yesterday sitting on my porch reading. Friday I spent it cleaning a nasty mess out of my trunk (I had only intended to clean the windshield but when I was looking for my squeegee I discovered a couple gallons of water in my spare tire well along with rusted metal things, slimy rubber things, and rotten cardboard and leaves...)
It will also mean my electric bill this month will be lovely. :)

Yeah, I'm digging on the mild winter in the Midwest this year. When I go back this week, it's supposed to be in the low 50s for the high and the 30s for the low. Which is so manageable.

Re: How about that weather, then, eh?
I don't know about your snow but our snow is now covered in a nice layer of ice. Poor Cleo is slipping all over the back yard. If she puts too much weight on one foot she breaks thought the ice and then her other legs slip and then she can't get a grip to stand back up again. With her poor back legs being weak from her medications it just makes matters worse. Poor thing, I had to walk out into the yard to pick her up a few times today. We have snow!
There is nothing more fun then playing with a dog in the snow!
But before the layer of ice she had a ball chasing snowballs in the snow.

Re: How about that weather, then, eh?
The last time it snowed here I was dogsitting the two dogs I mentioned in the pet pics thread. I loved getting them out in the snow to run around and play! (However, the yard they play in, an uninhabited house the owners of the dogs have permission to use the yard for play time of, has a slightly steep driveway which was a bit treacherous, especially being attached to a rottweiler.)We have snow!

We currently have 58 degree, rainy weather. High of 70, low of 49.

Re: How about that weather, then, eh?
The snow and ice storms we had here this week thankfully didn't knock out our power. but we haven't had our comcast for 2 days (it stopped working once the weather got better for some strange reason) and it isn't suposed to come back for 2 more days. it sucks but i'm still happy we didn't loose power and the tree that fell in our yard didn't damage anything.

55 degrees tonight, I was grilling out! We were inside, since the outside of my place is even smaller than the inside, but we had the door open most of the time to keep it cooled off.

We got about 2" of snow yesterday, which is significant for this winter (how pathetic is that!). And 5F this morning. I hate the cold without large amounts of snow!

Heehee, you'll definitely have to adjust your way of thinking for winter - but you've got a community of people here who can give you all sorts of tips.
I have a friend who moved to Canada from India (at the age of 10) and she had nothing but cloudy days for the first week, then saw the sun one morning and put on shorts to go outside. Big shock!!

haha, that's kind of like my old trick of looking outside to determine if it was cold or not.
Me, to my roommate at the time: It doesn't look cold out.
Roommate:...how in the hell can you tell by looking?
Me: Well, it's not windy and I see the sun.
Roommate:...
Me: You're right. I'll actually check before we leave.
