I am way excited for the rest of the engagement pictures to come in. These look so natural, warm, and affectionate and that is exactly how you guys are.

I got my dress ordered, so just waiting for that to come in and then I'll see if my favorite girl shoes ever match/will work. If so, it'll just be a matter of getting the dress altered to fit better up top. Then I just have to not lose or gain weight for 8ish months. Piece of cake. (Only, no, can't have too many of those.)

I've started date hunting for this thing, too. (That's still okay, right, Adam? Maybe?) By which I mean I asked zero but know he may not be up to that, so I've also told/asked two other gentlemen guys.

Only thing left to do, for now, is let my hair grow out and wait for the engagement pictures.

My unsolicited advice: remember that a lot of dress you try on will make you look awful/silly/half-dead/etc. This is true for everyone and does not indicate an inherent flaw in you.

Also keep an open mind - the dress I found was the complete opposite of what I'd envisioned and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it on myself.

Kelly, it breaks my heart that it seems like everything about your wedding planning process (aside from the groom) has been about a million times harder for you than it was for me. :(

I wish I could wave a magic wand and making wedding planning as fun for you as it was for me.

It wasn't all BAD emotional (although some of it definitely, definitely was). I may have found a dress. It made me cry both times I put it on. I promise to recap it for you all soon--the good and the bad. And I still have another appointment tomorrow. But I just can't type it out right now. I am so, so drained.

Your dress is absolutely beautiful! I can't get over the pockets, for some reason that is the coolest thing ever!

I love it! And pockets are great. I don't think I've ever really used the pockets in my one pocketed dress as objects create weird lumps, but there is something about having them that makes everything more awesome.

I'm so glad you put up a picture. I was going to ask if you had pictures from your shopping experience, but what with the emotional drainage that it is, I figured it would be better to wait. And now I don't have to ask!

I have a couple of skirts and dresses with pockets and I absolutely love them! It drives me nuts when I wear pants that don't have anywhere to keep things because I have to have my keys on me at all times at work.

I know someone who claimed she and her husband were married by a friend who supposedly got a one-time license to officiate a wedding in MN. Turns out her marriage is probably not so much legal because SUCH A LICENSE DOES NOT EXIST in this state. And our officiant will not register to become ordained online, because he's a committed, practicing Catholic and doesn't want to compromise that and become a "minister" of another church (which is TOTALLY valid).

So now our options are...let him perform a "ceremony" but we get legally married elsewhere/at another time (which we don't want to do) or find another officiant (which we also don't want to do). UGH.

I never quite got why you needed official officiants. Can't you sign a marriage license in front of a couple witnesses and call it good? What does a "legal marriage" entail besides that?

That sucks, though. I hope you find a good solution.
