Homecoming: name origins

Postby ptr.arkanian » Sun Apr 11, 2010 11:13 pm

Nafai
Luet
Chevya
Okyib
Mebbekew
Zdorab
Shedemei
Hushidh

Just some examples of names used in ther series Homecoming. These names are original, not suprising for characters of OSC. But the origins of these names had to come from somewhere. They arent just random letters. Any ideas on their origin?

Some are loosely based on the Book of Mormon (ie, Nafai -> Nephi). I feel like I read somewhere that the names were based on Russian but I'm not sure about that.
