Pastwatch == good movie?

Postby elfprince13 » Sun Oct 26, 2008 11:33 pm

so, I just got around to reading Pastwatch, and I think it would make a FANTASTIC movie. Also, it further elevated my opinion OSC as essentially the only sci-fi author I've read who knows how to the subject of religion without it sounding preachy (from either side of the discussion)
"But the conversation of the mind was truer than any language, and they knew each other better than they ever could have by use of mere sight and touch."

I think Pratchett handles religion quite well, as evidenced by Nation, but OSC is quite good at it too.

Pastwatch has filmic potential, but too complex for a two hour film. Substantially condensed it would be possible.

If you liked that book, look for 1491 which is a nonfiction study of what the Americas were like pre-columbus, it's an astounding, eye opening book.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
