good action stories, novel or short

Any really really good action stories, novel or short I dont really care? Does anybody know some really good action stories whether it is novel or short? Ive read books that are supposed to be amazing and they suck **** example Manhunt by James L. Swanson. Ugh. I read a short story called The Puligist at Rest by Thom Jones and It was really good and action packed. Mention any book you think is really good or action packed. Also has anyone read the books by George Pelecanos?

Depends how old you are. There's a lot of Hunger Games hype and its a pretty good movie and an excellent book (sequels too). You may want to try the Alex Rider series (9 books) by Anthony Horrowitz. I'm not sure of the spelling of his name because I've only listened to the books.
