What surprised you the most?

Postby spanish_rockette » Thu Feb 17, 2011 8:32 pm

what surprise me the most was the fact that Petra had 14 kids. she had 9 kids with bean. and another 5 she had with peter. and the fact the Peter and Petra got married. I mean I remembered the first time I read EG, I never imagined Peter getting married to Petra. In The beginning of Shadow of the Giant, I thought Petra disliked him so much.

So what surprised you the most?

Seeing the statue of liberty and realizing that it was Earth all along.

I really was not expecting Ender to die (before I read the book) but I don't know what suprised me most. Probably how Petra gave into Bean and let him go with the kids, when she didnt go herself. Also, I always thought it was sort- of suprising when Ender 'split' himself into Young Val, Young Peter and himself. Of course, these were the characteristics that truly made him.
When in need, you must be the savior to your kind. When not, you must conquer and take charge.

- When Young Peter and Young Val were, uhm, sprouted.
- When Bean didn't die (I read a "spoiler" that he died when I was reading Speaker for the Dead, but that "spoiler" lied to me).
- When Sister Carlotta died. Since her body was never found, I'd assumed she never REALLY died and we would meet up with her later. Come Shadow of the Giant, where is she? :(
When Ender died, it took me off guard, big time
My friend saw I was reading a book (a mere minutes after I got out of the library), snatched it from me, opened up to a random page and read a sentence. It said, "Valentine went to Ender's funeral." I will never forgive my friend.

She knew I was mad at her, but she's so resilient that I doubt she cared. She DOES allow me to call her Qing Jao, albeit she insists the pronunciation MUST be, "King How?"

As funny as she is, that did NOT make me feel better.
We can shed our skins and swim into the darkened void beyond
We will dance among the world that orbit stars that aren't our sun
All the oxygen that trapped us in a carbon spider's web
Solar winds are whispering, you may hear the sirens of the dead.

The fact that Quara grew up to be such a b****. most things I saw coming a mile away but Quara made no sense.
-Because you protected this ephemerally floating world by your own hand
Now simply fold your wings and sleep restfully
Be wrapped up in an eternal tranquility, and love through all eternity

Sleep, by this hand of mine that gently watches over you
I remember you laughing, you crying, you angry
I will never forget for all time until my life is exhausted-
