I'm not referring to Bean's genetics or any other biological/genetic component when I say he doesn't come across as human enough to me; I am referring to his personality. It's been years since I picked up the Shadow series but he came across as robotic; an intelligent but overly logical robot/ass who refused to acknowledge he had feelings and instead repeatedly said "I act this way because I'm so damn smart and know it, as you should know it." That he was ever emotionally feel-y enough with a girl/woman to be in a relationship astounds me.

I would argue your second paragraph but quite frankly, I think it's utter bullshit to claim that those who don't have children aren't capable of "completely" bonding as those who do have children. God, you're the one who makes it sound business-like, thinking he should marry for children instead of marrying the woman he loves because she can't or won't give him any.

((Oh kuso what happened?))

COMBO BREAKER!!

When your parting greeting is "The enemy's gate is down."

Lets add...

When your New Year's resolution is to become Ender Wiggin.

When you naturally use Battle School slang.

When your parting greeting is salaam.

When your opening greeting is ho.

When you carry your Ender stuff everywhere with you.

I need to do some of the above.

When you're planning on starting an Enderrevolution at school.

When you post on Pweb till 11:30 pm.

When the Authorized Ender's Game Companion becomes your bible.

When your boyfriend offers his signed copy of Ender's Game to you if you're wiling to have a threesome, and it's really tempting..

parting greeting
You keep using that word; I don't think it means what you think it means.

(I got what you meant, but still... what?)

Hehehehe, A parting "greeting".

Fine... CLOSING greeting. The greeting you end a conversation with.

I think the greeting part is the problem. Greeting is like an introduction, the beginning of something, the start to a conversation. But when you're parting from someone, you are ending things, you're stopping communication.

So you just want me to change greetings to phrases for when you say good bye? Makes sense, I see it now.

When you find a guy on Xbox live with an Ender gamertag and bombard them with questions, then curse their firstborn when you found out they never actually read the books

Heh. I use Ender-related gametags too on xfire and Steam, but I actually read them. I must be obsessed.

I don't think greeting is limited to meeting or parting.

When you abuse your school's library system so you can borrow Enderverse and renew them over and over until the end of the school year.

When you look up other books by OSC and start reading them. (Characters & Viewpoint, heh)

When in the middle of walking, you say "Beeeaaaaaaannnnn I miss you" after not reading Shadow for a while and call out Bean's name again and again in a long, drawn-out way that annoys people around you.

Someone said earlier about having dreams about it. I am hereby obsessed: I had a dream where Fly Molo and Carn Carby and others of Ender's Jeesh came to my school, and I was the only one who knew them..... how sad is that?

... and a greeting is an introduction or beginning, so parting greeting is sortof oxymoronic.

I've had dreams where I'm viewing the story of EG, but from a first person POV. I was like a soldier in Dragon Army with the awesome flash suit and everything. I also had a dream that an EG movie was coming out, but the preview was of a sailboat...

Heh, the sailboat? :P I remember waking up and having a great picture of an actual EG movie in my mind, but when my mom told me that people had been trying for years, I gave up on the thought.

I keep rereading Enderverse ;-;

My friend asked me how I am supposed to start a revolution when I keep taking the books out from my school's library.

I've been really ~academically interested in~ a military geographer over the past few months and reading all of his books except one, but the one I haven't read? A. its old news, B. my first thought when reading the full description was, "Peter Wiggin!"

Yeaaaa.

woohoo!

According to my diploma, I am very loosely a non-practicing one of these.

It means my degree is in Geography, but due to it being a BA instead of a BS, I'd consider it a somewhat lesser degree for what most people consider a proper geographer to have. I'm also not sure one qualifies as a geographer with just a bachelor's. I hope you know what non-practicing means; I don't have time to link you to M-W every time I post.

Heh I'm a recovering historian, even less qualified for legitimate inquiry with a BA.

Ha! I almost did that to my friend Valerie.

When you meet a really smart, athletic kid and think about how he would probably qualify for Battle School.
