Formics

Just curious if anyone knows why OSC started referring to the Buggers (a name which always kind of bothered me as well as Piggies but I digress) as Formics in the ES series but it's never mentioned in the EG series. :?:

Mostly due to negative responses toward the word "bugger" from the UK crowd, from the best of my knowledge. This is also the reason that the word never appears in the comics, in any new screenplays, etc.

Bugger is a bad word in English. It says somewhere in Ender's Shadow that the Buggers were renamed the Formics because of this, even though IF common is technically not English. It actually is a bad word though, not just according to the books. but who cares? I'll call them buggers.
