I just wanted to say, although I love my boys and am sad (yet not surprised) at their performance this season, I am so happy for the Broncos moving on. I hated the team, I mean outright hated them under Tim Tebow but Peyton Manning, well, I like him quite a bit and am so glad to see his career didn't end with the surgeries he had.

They're who I'm cheering for to take the whole thing, though a Packer victory would be neat, too. The only team I am actively cheering against would of course be the Patriots.

Never, ever say this to anyone in Chicago. Now that you're living in the Chicagoland area, you're required to grow a mustache and cheer only for Da Bears.

Good news; I have the mustache part down! Alas, I won't feel comfortable only cheering for the Bears until I learn how to properly say Da Bears. I've practiced, no joke. It's harder than it seems it should be.

Pfft, if I wasn't friends with people who liked terrible teams, I'd have no friends at all, as opposed to only a few.

I'm thinking quarterbacks are the team, for me, except for with the Cowboys and the Raiders; I dislike the former because of their dynasty in the 90s getting on my nerves/my paternal side of the family loving them and me basically loathing my paternal side of my family and the latter because I was raised to, owing to them being the rivals of the Chargers. But Tom Brady = most arrogant, insufferable quarterback of all time.

Some people might say the same about Phillip Rivers, minus the accomplishments to back him up but meh.

I understand they're rivals, but the city of Chicago actually has a huge Packer following! Tons of WINsconsin natives there...including about 50% of my family.

One thing about coming to football in adulthood - I don't have much in the way of passion for division rivalries. If I didn't associate Chiefs fandom with former co-workers who were rabidly anti-Raider, I wouldn't care at all. Donny hates the Broncos with great passion -and, don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to win than lose to them -but, honestly, it's hard to work up much furor.

I do hate the Cowboys, though. Comes from growing up in Texas in the nineties.

[quote="I do hate the Cowboys, though. Comes from growing up in Texas in the nineties.[/quote]

Same I only lived there for a little less than a year in 92-93 but HATE the Cowboys because of it.

Same reason I hate the Yankee's growing up in NY

I hate the Cowboys because my parents were 49ers fans in the 90's. Back when they watched football regularly. Mr. Sexy Pants' cousins are madly in love with the Cowboys. I had to keep myself very quiet over Thanksgiving.

Anyone is welcome to come watch the Broncos win the Superbowl right here in Broncos Country! 8)

As far as hating teams, I don't think there is one that I hate. I don't really pay that much attention to the overall league. I just watch and cheer for the Broncos when they play. I'm happy when they win and I'm "meh, oh well" when they lose and that's about it! (As a Broncos fan, I'm supposed to dislike the Raiders and the Chiefs.)

I have been a little more excited this season, though. I always liked Payton Manning whenever we played the Colts, so it's been nice to have him here and it's been nice to be winning for real, not by luck, and consistently.

We love the Patriots in my house. I'm kind of hit or miss on Brady as a person, but love Welker (he's hilarious), Edelman, Wilfork (so down to earth and his relationship with his wife is so cute) and Gronkowski.

I now have mixed feelings on the Broncos. My ex was a really obnoxious Broncos fan so its nice to hate on them... but I love Peyton Manning. So....

I also hate the Cowboys. Like Kirsten, Texas in the 90's.

I like to root for the Texans. They have a guy from my Alma mater that actually plays! Yay James Casey!

I'm trying to like the Panthers... but... Came Newton is ridiculous and the panthers are terrible.

As a Baylor fan, I love RG3 and am pissed the Redskins broke him.

I'm a die-hard Eagles fan, and hate the Cowgirls with a passion. The last few years have been disappointing, but I started watching football just after Andy Reid took over, and it'll be weird seeing someone else on the sidelines after 14 years. I really do hope he does well with a fresh start in Kansas City.

I've somewhat adopted the Panthers as a secondary team after moving to NC, but like Kim said, it's really hard to get behind them. They did show some promise in the second half of the season, so we'll see what happens next year.

Also, completely unrelated to football, but still sports:

HOCKEY'S BACK!!! Go Flyers! :D

I don't follow any sports, but I have to say I love the energy around here about the Seahawks lately. I got my Dad tickets to his first ever Seahawks game for Christmas, so he's even more excited that he got to see them in action.

Naturally my cheering for them would result in both a Broncos and Packers loss. :bash:

Still, as long as Patriots don't win, it's still okay.

See, I still think of him as that scrappy kid who everyone thought would screw up after Drew Bledsoe got injured. Also, for me, in a lot of ways, a memorable head coach is the team for me, and Bill Belichick is great.

**Bump**

You know, I think it says something that when the Raiders took an early lead 14-0 in this game, I did not even feel the slightest twinge of hopefulness. I knew they'd piss it away as soon as possible. Game's tied now at the end of the second quarter. I'm just kind of numb these days about the Raiders' gameplay, so I'm not mad. Mostly, I'm feeling a kind of resigned smugness that I totally called it.

Edit:

As of the third quarter, I am experiencing... hopefulness? Excitement? I think? It's been so long.

Edit:

And we won. Despite trying to give away the game. I mean, seriously. Gift wrapped with a pretty bow and everything, but they turned it down. Still! Happiness!

Excited for the game this weekend. Orange and Blue fever is strong around here right now! Every where you go, people are wearing merchandise. Even the staff at the Dr. office today!

Washington is amazing right now! Everyone is so pumped up (including myself, and i've never ever cared for the sport!) and it's pretty rare to see someone without some sort of Hawks gear/colors. My entire office was in green/blue today along with pretty much everyone everywhere I went.

I'm really hoping it's a Broncos/Hawks Superbowl, it's a deep rivalry in my family.

I'm hoping for that, too. If that happens, I'm rooting for the Seahawks.

(I have two child clients who are huge fans. Plus my house will be unlivable if the Broncos win.)

Definitely behind the Broncos for this and thrilled the Patriots didn't make it.

I'm really proud of my team for making it as far as they did after how they played this year and honestly, while I'm still holding out for a Super Bowl for the Chargers, as long as they out-do the Raiders, I'm pretty happy. (See how low you have to set your standards as a San Diego fan? It always boils down to THE rivalry because we don't have much else.)

So excited for sunday!!!!!

Like me, Brian grew up a Broncos fan. As a kid, he watched his team make the Super Bowl and then lose more than once. The two year that the Broncos won, Brian was on his mission in Italy and didn't get to watch. In fact, he didn't even know they were IN until he heard weeks later that they'd won. Sunday is a pretty big deal for Brian. He has dreamed his whole life of watching the Broncos win the Super Bowl.

When I was a kid, Hostess put out Snoballs in Broncos colors when they were in the Super Bowl. I'm going to make a giant Broncos Snoball cake for sunday! I'm also doing a layered punch in blue, white and orange. We got a bunch of blue and orange candy that I'll put in various glass containers. I'm not sure what else I'm going to make, or what other people are bringing, but it should be awesome! My friend is making me a Broncos bunting banner, so I'll hang that up to help make the food display look awesome.

I secretly ordered this hoodie for Brian and I'm hoping, hoping, hoping it will be delivered by Saturday. (but I kinda don't think it will be. :( )

Seriously, sounds like it is going to be an awesome, awesome time at your place, and I'm really happy for Brian to be able to watch the Broncos play in the Super Bowl. (And, yeah, maybe win.)

A Broncos win would have made semi-decent proof that our division is not, in fact, the weakest division in the NFL. But there goes that. I'm pretty disappointed.
