I'm still irked that it got adjusted here to be different from the rest of the world (save for the part of the world that I think should really just get with it already, and while we're at it, who should befriend decimal based measurements, too).

Everyone always rubs that in! When you have 3 kids, they don't care what the clock says. They'll be up by 5:30am and I have no idea how long it will take for them to catch on to the new rhythm. Blah.I plan on using it for sleep.

Because of things like this, my parents actually had a rule that we couldn't get up until AFTER 7:00am, unless it was for school. It was mostly set in place because they'd be woken up by my sister at 3am, but I imagine it was very handy around daylight savings.Everyone always rubs that in! You could always try keeping them up and awake an hour or so past their bed time. I'm not sure if that works with your kids, but it could be worth a shot to speed up the process.Everyone always rubs that in! When you have 3 kids, they don't care what the clock says. I must have been a weird child. For as far back as I can remember, I suffered from some sort of sleeping disorder, I'm convinced of it, because I could never consistently fall asleep before about 3AM (with the exception of Christmas, when I'd fall asleep at about 2AM and wake up at about 5AM) and always tried sleeping in. It drove my mother nuts before -and after, really- I started school, as my brother would miss his bus more often than she'd like because I wouldn't rouse earlier.
It was only after high school, and not even the entire time since, that I've gotten better at sleeping.
Anyway, no hour gain for me. I simply get the potential for an extra hour of coinciding awake time with all my friends in Central and Eastern time.

I have always been really weird - whatever time my clock says is the time it is. When I flew to Rome and back, Alaska, England, none of those trips have messed me up. I get tired, yeah, from the travelling, but the next day I'm perfectly adjusted. The single hour change? Barely even registers.
That said, I'm really glad for the extra hour of sleep tonight, since it's another early morning tomorrow, and telling myself it's 8am instead of 7am will make me (mentally) feel better, even if I can't physically tell.

I'm like that too, even though I don't travel to vastly different timezones. Circadian rhythms mean nothing to me. On weekends and especially during vacations I keep very strange hours; often going to bed at 6:00am and getting up around 2:00pm. I can do this and then the very same day be in bed at midnight and be up at 6:30am the next morning to start the work week, during which I often average about 6 hours sleep a night. As long as I get in a night of binge sleeping every now and again I can function normally on well under 6 hours sleep for several days in a row.I have always been really weird - whatever time my clock says is the time it is. My body pretty much follows whatever schedule I tell it to.

I can do that, but I prefer not to. If I sleep in really late (like your 6am-2pm example), I'll have trouble sleeping on time that night. But that's due mostly to being a night owl. I naturally like staying up.

Me too! I think I'm part vampire. My natural inclination seems to be to sleep during the day and stay awake at night.
I have to admit that making the adjustment from night owl to working schedule after summer and Christmas vacations is a bit tougher for me now than it used to be just a few years ago. I guess I'm getting old.

I laughed really hard when I was looking over my medical records and found a note in there from when I was 11 or 12. My mom took me to the doctor because I was sleeping all day. She says I was really sleeping, like, a lot, no really it was worrying her, but I personally suspect that was the summer I discovered fantasy books and did a better job of hiding the fact I was staying up way late reading.

For whatever reason I was thinking it didn't happen until tomorrow morning, so I was happily surprised to find that I actually didn't sleep in to 10:30.

I made sure to set back and alarm a regular old clock last night, because I didn't trust my phone to change or not to change, and I really didn't want to be late or early for work.
Which is better than one of my co-workers. She set the clocks back, but apparently didn't say anything, so her husband set the clocks back, and didn't say anything either.

I know this was written ages ago, but it makes me laugh every time I look at the title of this thread. If my clocks were $*&?ing, I think I'd leave them alone and give them a little privacy. I can always come back later when they're done.

Due to the weekend being so busy with my sister's baby's blessing, we were gone a lot and out late and the kids have done really well transitioning. In fact, the baby is still asleep right now! (Wait, why am I up if the baby is sleeping...?) Yay!
I am happy that when it's so dark in the evening, I can trick the kids into bed earlier. It makes my evenings quieter!

Totally get you on that! I used to work with a lady who hated going to bed. It was always easier in winter. We used to have to close all the blinds in summer, and all year it was common that everyone else had to hide quietly in the basement so she would think she was the only one up. Man, good times!I am happy that when it's so dark in the evening, I can trick the kids into bed earlier. It makes my evenings quieter!

So even having seen this thread last week and being reminded by numerous people, I completely forgot about the change until monday night. Luckily most of my clocks change themselves automatically or were changed by other members of the household so it's not a big deal. The only clocks I had to set myself were my alarm clock (which I noticed was out of sync with my cell phone when I set the alarm for tuesday morning) and my car (which I probably should've just left alone six weeks ago when I finally got around to changing it from the previous time).

Apparently, they changed our server's clock before they left friday. It was and hour fast last night and is still so today. It creates the amusing side effect of being able to call dispatch moments after requesting a trailer move and claiming I asked for it an hour ago. I doubt that trick will work twice, though...

For as long as I can remember, the time change has always happend to happen on a day I have off so i've never had to really worry about it messing up my schedule.
I also think i'm the only one who really enjoys a time change.

I thought it was Sunday night. Shows what I know. My phone will take care of itself for me, as will my computer. The microwave will be wrong when I get back to the apartment Monday but easy enough to fix that.

I could have used this thread a week ago. That was the first time change that I can remember where not one person mentioned it the day before, and I only found out about it because I was up stupidly late and a few of my appliances changed automatically.
