Mission 101

Postby Mahatma » Wed Sep 27, 2006 11:07 pm

I'm not sure who started that thread, but as soon as I wanted to post in it, pweb went down *grumble*... SO, I hope nobody minds my resurrecting it just for this.

The idea is to make a list of 101 things you'd like to accomplish in the next 1001 days. My list only got to 15, BUT I am very excited about what I can cross off.

13. See the Who in concert -- DONE!

YAY! My 2nd-favorite band ever and they were AMAZING! Definitely worth the money! I will probably never come down from this high. Just have to share it with everyone I can because I'm so excited! :D

thanks! i was just too tired to put this thread back up right away, but i was planning on it.

i'll have to repost my list and update. i've completed a lot more things, and many of my (henry-related) goal will need to be changed (to non-henry related goals).

glad this caught on! i really love it.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I have one goal for the next seven days: think of 101 things I want to do. My list is hovering just below the 40 mark.

Hmm, that sounds like a good way to procrastinate going to bed.

Okay, I actually got 41 things down, in about 25 minutes. I put it on my LJ:

You know, I wrote (most of) one of these lists....but so many of went on the premise that I was engaged and going to get married 10 months from now......well, let's just say the list is all but useless now

Maybe later I'll modify it to....not include her anymore.

*bump*

My original Mission 101 list ended on the 17th. I kind of forgot about it, and it's really sad how many of the things I didn't do. One was to make regular back ups of my files, which I didn't do, and so I lost most of my stuff from the last 2 years. Yea...smart.

I think I'm going to make another one, and actually follow it this time.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

5. Get a bike and ride at least twice a week
6. Get back down to a size 7. (arguable)
12. Get a new computer

15. Learn not to be afraid to say what I think. (work in progress)

22. Finish painting the Green room

24. Make Chai from scratch
25. Host a tea party

30. Replace the garage door.

35. Pay off the Element
Hey, I finished some of these. Nifty. However, it's kind of unacceptable that I didn't get the list to 101 things and that I didn't take it seriously. Time to fix that. I'll have a complete list in here by tomorrow latest.

I have 93 items on my list, I've done 20ish (quite a few of them are continual self-improvement things) But I have till August 2011. I think all the ones that involve traveling are the ones that are least likely to actually happen...
So don't go worrying about me
It's not like I think about you constantly
So maybe I do, but that shouldn't affect

Postby LilBee91 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:12 pm

*mega bump*

My second Mission 101 list ended on my birthday, but (due to poor planning) I realized there were some things I was not going to be able to accomplish until the summer. So I extended it until September, because I'm a dirty rotten cheater. I'm still not going to accomplish a number of the goals, but I didn't want the only reason for failing on some of them to just be because I wasn't in the right state. In the meantime, I am working on a third one that will run from June 7th until my 24th birthday. Which, by the way, makes me feel really old. Especially considering how my first one of these (that I failed at epically) started when I was 15. 2002 days goes by really fast...

I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Alea, I think you have accomplished many of your Chicago goals but you are certainly not updating your blog three times a week (or month!). :P

Even though I only had a list of 50 goals, I feel like I accomplished a good amount of them. I went back and edited to check some off.

I know. Writing is much more exhausting than I expected...which is not an excuse, really.

The fact of the matter is, I'm a lazy bugger.

Ah, Mission 101. An EPIC fail for me, although I did go back and cross off the things I managed to accomplish (intentionally or otherwise). My list of goal amuses me; so many of them are things I don't remotely care about anymore. There are still one or two on there I'd like to accomplish though.

I've been thinking a lot lately of making up a list of 30 Things to Do While 30. My birthday is in mid-July, so I've got time to put a list together...
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

At 25 and change, I've just put together a 30 Things to Do Before 30 list. The bar I've set for myself is embarrassingly high, so I'm not going to share it here. Perhaps as I cross items off the list, I'll post about them.
