Baby is doing great! It was so jumpy during the ultrasound today. Bouncing all over the place.

Pretty little nose! Was this for the nuchal translucency screen?

Kirsten, yep! Nuchal translucency screen. So far, results are super perfect. Waiting on the blood test for the final risk assessment.

Alea and Teresa, yep! That's the little face on the right and a little hand up near the face. I can't wait for.more.detailed scans.

I had a scare today, but everything turned out OK.

I woke up this morning with a big patch of blood in my underwear. Cue the panic. Texted my husband to come home immediately, called the doctor's office to talk to the emergency nurse, cried a whole bunch. Called out of work. Waited 45 minutes to call back and get an appointment scheduled. Got an ultrasound at 1030.

Baby is fine. I cried again when we saw the heartbeat. They couldn't actually find a cause of the bleeding. But they say I can do everything like normal.

For people who have neither Steph nor Brian on facebook, their wee new girl is pretty sick. She's in the hospital now, but is being well-cared for and is stable. But I'm sure prayers and/or positive thoughts wouldn't go amiss.

(I hope it's okay to post this, Steph. I'll take it down if you want.)

Thanks for sharing the news, Ali. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

Jocelyn has RSV. On Sunday, her body temperature dropped to 92°F and she stopped breathing. Brian preformed CPR and got her breathing until the EMTs got there and we rode by ambulance through a blizzard to the closest hospital. They stabilized her and then we drove medical transport through the blizzard to Children's Hospital where we were admitted to the NICU. She's made great improvement, but it's still going to take time to work through the virus and the thick mucous of doom. We'll be here for at least a few more days, hopefully not much longer than that. (though, it can take a few weeks.)

The good news is that she doesn't have any secondary infections. She's strong and she's showing her personality again, so we're hopeful we'll be home soon!

Oh Steph... praying for you so much. When I read on Brian's status "Jocelyn's heart stopped", I felt like my heart stopped too. I'm sorry you and your family has had to go through so much lately. You are definitely in my thoughts every day.

At 2 months old, Jocelyn is in the 75% for weight! This is seriously awesome for me, since my babies usually barely get enough milk and are barely on the growth chart. (Actually, Brayden was below the growth chart until he was over a year old.) I finally have enough milk to not worry about my baby's growth!!!!!!

(Also, she has another cold. I don't know how her little body will deal with it so soon after RSV, so I'm hoping and praying it's a mild virus!)

We had our anatomy scan today!

Everything went really well. They did find a tiny echogenic focus in her heart, so we're going for a different ultrasound next week to make sure it isn't anything. But the doctor said it usually isn't a big deal and reading several scientific articles online this afternoon agrees with that. So, I'm not stressed about it.

Thanks for asking, Alea!

The foot elling has good days and bad days. Most of the bad days are work days where I'm on my feet all day. Lately my ribs have started to ache. The doctor says this is normal and is a consequence of my lungs inflating more than ever to oxygenate for 2 and edema between my ribs. Oh, body, rib spades are a dumb place for edema. Why not finish filling those feet up, instead?
