I know this is short notice, but for those relevant few, we will be in London from tomorrow until Tuesday should you be there and want to have coffee or a pint or the like! Send me a PM and I'll send you my mobile number if you don't already have it.

I'm jealous of all these meet-ups!

There used to be a map of where pwebbers are located. There should be an app that sends an invite to all pwebbers from any given area. Like set it to a 200 mile radius or something sends the invite to email.

Um, so I guess I should give a head's up that I won't be able to attend the MN shindig. I really wish I could but it's just not realistically possible right now.
Damn, yeah, wish I could go.
You're pretty well out of luck in the meet-up department since I'm pretty sure you're our only Aussie, though we used to have a Kiwi several years ago. Also, most parents aren't too keen on letting their young'uns meet random internet weirdos anyway.

Claire is heading to NYC pretty soon for school. But, uh, don't meet too soon because I'm waiting for August paydays to come around to see if I can make it before the year is up.

I asked some resident Twin City-ites about fun things to do for our Minneapolis meet-up. I have no idea what of these the rest of you will find interesting, but here ya go.

Mill City Farmers Market: Lots of good food and beautiful location.

Washaba Street Caves: Really the funnest thing here would be the swing night, which is only on Thursdays, but they have some fun tours supposedly.

Wienery: Hole-in-the-wall hot dog/sausage/Polish dog/etc. place.

The Science Museum: (According to science nerds) "5 or 6 floors of awesome."

And, of course, lots of other food places, sports, shopping, etc., plus the other stuff we've discussed already.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

Not very helpful, I know, but I'm pretty much open to anything that is either free or credit-card friendly.

Though, more importantly, I'm open to anything that is good for picture-taking.

Oh, sure, sure, just wait til I leave the East Coast why don't you?
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Hey, Chris...isn't there some sort of famous diner in downtown St Paul? Is that out of our range for travel?

Mickey's Diner, made famous by the Mighty Ducks I, II and III, Jingle All the Way and A Prairie Home Companion. It's really tiny inside, but the food was good the one time I ate there.

I've constructed a map. It should be editable if you're logged into Google.

I think I'll have to come up with some brilliant idea, make lots of money really fast and then get a place at TDA, then Central Park should be right across the road and I can just walk there.

The map being for the Minneapolis gathering, not to be confused with the map in the other thread showing where Pwebbers are.

Haha I read that first as "edible"

Just in case you start planning anything concretely, I am busy September 15 and 22-23. I can easily come down for the day and would prefer a Saturday to a Sunday (or I'm free any midweek day) but I can work around that if need be.

It would have to be a weekend for me, since school starts at the end of August.

I'm just going to throw this out there. There's a rumor (that I'm pretty sure will turn out to be true) that Ender's Game will make an appearance at next summer's Comic-Con (makes sense).

Ahem, so if anyone would like a SoCal meet up I think that'd be a pretty reason to make it out this way.
I write this very early so people have a year or so to save up.
Tickets run has high as $175 (4 days, adult ticket) and it's less for kids ...plus a hotel etc. etc.

I know prices are high and tickets are nearly impossible to get, but if anyone wants to try and go I do plan on trying to go.

Then it would have to be the 8th for me or early November.

October weekends I'm working, have a relative coming to visit, and might be in DC meeting zero's familia.

Either is fine for me, though the chances of good weather are better for 9/8. We could have snow by November!

Are we talking 8/9 of September?? :o That seems rather soon! That's a good thing though, not a bad thing. The earlier in the semester, the better, for me, but as of now I can probably make any weekend work. Maybe weekdays too, but I haven't gotten my class schedule yet, and it seems like weekends are better for both Elf and Nomi.

Oh, it definitely has to be a weekend for me; I don't have a flexible enough schedule to make it during the week. It'd probably be a one day thing as well, given the cost of a hotel would drive up the trip's cost to probably count me out, given I still have to account for food and transit, so a Saturday is the most likely.

I'll have a better idea in a few weeks' time but I won't let it go past 3 weeks prior to that weekend without saying one way or another.

Nyarrrgh. I think I'll just move to America, do my university there. Although...

I just went and checked out time zones and it looks like there aren't too many places in America ahead of Australia... most is a couple or more of hours behind and so...

I think I'll have a PwebCon of one (self-contradictory, I know) and go to the midnight viewing, see it a little before you guys have the chance too. That'll be fun.
