We finally got snow after weeks of Spring weather. High 60's, flowers coming up, etc. I'm so happy the snow is back! And we'll get more this weekend!

Today was in the mid-20s, meaning ideal for long-sleeve ultimate frisbee, and our practice field was finally plowed. =)

Spring here in Providence too! Today and yesterday were my first days barefooting this spring, but there are still ice patches to dodge.

It's never been so green around here as long as I can remember. We are about to get cutting hay so I suppose it will start raining again but it's time. We are looking at the best winter wheat I've ever seen here.

This is a strange year! There are at least six fulltime huge diferent heavy helicopters based around here fighting, and 2 fireplanes . One big old Bell "Huey" is stationed a half mile from our farm. It's dry enough but someone must be worried we'll all burn up. It is rare as muck as our wheat is ready to cut more than a month early. If we we're ready we could be harvesting, damn it feels good to post this here now!

This is crazy! Smoke so thick we drive slow on the hiway, fireplanes everywhere and huge choppers too! Thank god harvest is done , all it would take is one hot truck tale pipe or muffler could set off our whole state. Never seen anything like this. We tried to go to our ranch up north to water everything and the roads are closed!

Fall's here! I can smell it and the temp got down to 39 last night. I took my old beechcraft up this morning and the cool air was so thick we were off the ground in 2/3 the usual takeoff run.

This has been a wild few days! we had 70 to 90 mph winds and one of our 80 year old spruce trees broke in half and the wind threw it into our farm house. We just finished dinner and felt good as the power was out for hours and came on in time for Julie to make it and felt lucky, right about then a 6in sharp tree limb poked through the dining room just missing the light fixture. Funny thing I never heard much I was just keeping eyes on Julie n Maddie the wall and livingroom windows knocked out and more ,big mess powers been out for 2.5 days I think most of Spokane is still out and most of the area will be out for several more days. This is the 4th big wind storm here in 20 years but 3 of them the last 2 years I think. I got to use some of my ond time junk namely my big 1918 fairbanks morse one cylinder dieselh hit n miss engine hookd up to a as old dynamo to power the farm. It did chug along , I let it run 13 hrs straight, I liked to see those big 51/2 ft flywheels going around and lots of folks stopped to take pix of my engine or just at the huge tree lying on my house. I'm tired n need a shower so later. PS I missed the last 2 days of deer season here I'm sorry I did'nt shoot one earlier.

It's 103 here at the farm! I'm hiding in my basement watching the latest game of thrones. Just can't take the heat when it comes on so quick.
