School canceled today. 22 inches of snow predicted; over 2 feet on the eastern plains. Brian drove into work this morning, but I'm not sure he'll make it home tonight!

Yikes. I feel your pain. We had 10 inches of snow on Tuesday, another 5 yesterday and a blizzard and more snow predicted for tonight.

Snowing here. Finally winter. Sucks for the sprouting daffodils.

I was getting quite worried that we wouldn't get any snow, despite all the news of it falling all over the REST of the country! Now we've got at least an inch or two!

I found the cold! Dear lord, I found it. And it's possibly bringing snow tomorrow. Naturally. On the day my stuff gets delivered and I have to move it.

I feel ya. I mean, I love that I haven't had to wear my winter coat to school all year, but it's somewhat ridiculous that Europe gets feet of snow and Utah doesn't have any.

Welcome to VH1's Best State Ever. It has been unusually mild this year. Which means we're probably going to be hammered with snow in March, again.

Hmm. See, I'm beginning to think snow is a myth. Either that or I really do control the weather and it's listening to my wish to stay warm long enough for me to get settled. It did do baby flurries on Tuesday and it's supposed to snow Friday, so, we'll see.

It's actually pretty nice out here in the suburbs. It was in the city that it was colder than I liked. Windy City? Why yes, yes it is. Still, and all that.

The photograph from last year has blown my mind. Blown. My. Mind.

I mean, I've seen the movie Fargo, and I have a friend who grew up in Minot (which I always call Mynock in my mind, the creatures that were feeding on the Millennium Falcon in Empire Strikes Back), but that is more snow than I could have imagined existing outside of say, either of the poles.

Am I correct in assuming that it has been piled up by snow plows or something and wasn't originally that deep in the yards?

Ha. We have about that much snow right now and we're supposed to have yet another snowstorm tonight (10cm predicted). That's 4 snowstorms in 10 days. Midwest? We have your snow. Please come and take it away.

I should hunt down some pictures from Valdez and Cordova this year. They closed down schools because there was enough snow on the roofs to collapse them. They had to call in the National Guard to shovel people out.

ETA: Found a nice gallery of pictures on the Anchorage Daily News website. Apologies in advance for the poor editing. "Burries." Honestly...

The past two years we have had record setting winters around here. A wonderful benefit of my job is that I have the opportunity to work from home sometimes. However, it has made me hate snow. All the hassle of dealing with it, without the benefit of being off from work. :grumble:

Sooooo it's a little windy here. Well, more than a little. The big blue spruce in front of our house blew down about an hour ago. This thing is taller than our house, and it's now on it's side in the front yard. O_o

Ooo. No fun! The snow pack was up to my knees 24 hours ago. Now there is nothing. It's seriously windy.

I Found Winter (to the tune of Frere Jacques)

I found winter,
I found winter,
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
Please don't let it kill me,
I don't want to die yet,
Pray for me.
Pray for me.

Spring's about to bust out! I can feel and smell it , I went into some close fields with my 4 wheeler and you can just barely see the winter wheat starting to green up. I've got a feeling it's going to be a good year,I hope it is for everyone. :P

Today was the most PERFECT weather day ever. It was just warm enough to be without a jacket and not warm enough to feel hot in any way. We spent it at the zoo, soaking up some vit D. The animals were active and enjoying the weather, too. I didn't want to go home, it was just too perfect!
