Re: You know you've read too much EG when...

Whenever I have a big turntable project (and there have been a few), I break out my EG spreadsheet! I had a 22' diameter turntable for Zumanity that was required to spin at 6 rpm. That's 7 feet/sec at the perimeter and 15%G centripetal force--enough to toss a trained Cirque do Soleil acrobat! We tun...

When you break out your calculation sheets from your Ender's Game presentation to help you design real-world sets (the rotating stages from Cirque du Soleil's "KA," and "Zumanity," for instance).

These almost look too simplistic to be actual insignia. The whole "Greek Key" motif running through them seems like an afterthought. Why not "Egg and Dart" molding on the Battle School, too? http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4lcqpqULm1r972f1.jpg http://media-cache-ec2.pinterest.com...

Unfortunately, I was not able to dance today (still at work..in Florida), but I DID help produce a local (NY) production of Vagina Monologues, and my daughter (then about 13 or so) was in "My Vagina is my Village."

It's an obviously excellent cause; Eve Ensler is to be lauded!

Here's an interesting thought experiment: the flag. The flag was suspended under a spring-loaded batten across its top. But once the flag popped out of its storage tube, it definitely "rippled." Would it ripple more in the vacuum and 1/3rd earth gravity on the moon, or in still air in 1 G ...
