Re: Doctor Who (yarr, there be spoilers here!)
HAHA! Just saw an add with a date for the new season's beginning. It'll probably come out everywhere before it hits the screens here (on September 8th) but I am freakin' pumped!

Re: Doctor Who (yarr, there be spoilers here!)
Haha! ABC iView is unblocked at school and my free periods are just long enough to happily watch a Doctor Who episode. Oh the joys of finishing all homework in class.
I also got my Torchwood replaced . My brother told me Jack and Ianto kiss, but I couldn't see it very well .

That's pretty much the impression I got, especially after reading SiF. The corridors in the ship there were too low even for the Leguminotes.

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
You missed my point which is that, in the same sentence, you claim not to cherry pick and then say that you reject all of the holy books except where they're useful to prove your point. And now you say "I'm allowed to cherry pick". I just find this ironic because one of your main arguments...

Cchm, yeah. Not violent or agressive at all *cough-cough*.
Yeah, chm, don't cherry pick, only use select verses to show contradiction and reject the rest. Chm, yeah *cough*.
And I thought you're against internal contradictions.

Re: MOCKINGJAY spoilers
I didn't like Prim's death but agree that it makes sense. I mean, I hate the typical "good guys win and everybody lives" scenario, someone close to home had to die. [edit] That's what I was forgetting! I meant to also say that, while I knew that Katniss would end up with Peeta, I liked Gal...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Actually, this is the wrong way to go about proving that "it's incorrect to say that everyone cherry picks." What I'd need to do is find ONE person who does not (or did not) Cherry Pick. Maybe... + all insuing pictures. I thought you already knew that I can't see pictures. I mean, that to...

Re: MOCKINGJAY spoilers
I haven't read many of the posts and it's been a while since I read MOCKINGJAY but I thought I'd say this: Prim is drawn for the Games > Katniss takes her place > Katniss defies Capitol and becomes face of rebellion > rebellion ends but Prim is dead, thus... the whole thing was, in essence, to save ...

Agreed. Do you think that the lesser sci-fiishness of the Shadow series is more because of the way it was written, the storyline itself or the 3000 year gap?

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Steve, If I look at an instruction manual, and the instructions are all contradictory, and don't work, and reflect horrible biases by the author, and make no sense, then I have to start to wonder if it's nonsense. So...I check myself. I look at it again. I try to look at it differently. I ask other ...

You asked me for the reasoning behind my statement when I made it clear, by saying that I had to study more and prefacing the statement with "I think", that it was an opinion without much basis.

Oh for smeg sake! I told you I'd explain it if I could. It's just an idea that I plan to back up or abandon based on what I find out next through my CASUAL study. I'm advancing an opinion, not an attempt at an explanation. All I can say is that based on what I know it seems likely that quantum entan...

Despite my belief in God, I do believe that SA can be explained by physics and not spiritualism. When you mention the quantum nature of the mind and micro-cosmos and the entaglement thereof causing the collapse of the waveform, I'm reminded of something written in The Cosmic Blueprint . Computers ar...

Okay, once again I've not got the time or energy to hunt through the posts here and find your original stances.
Are you saying that the human mind is a biochemical computer, Steve?
Possible, with a MAJOR quantum factor thrown in.
I'm not sure what your main stance is Thomas, enlighten me?

I also got season 1 of Torchwood but discs 2 and 3 (at least!) are scratched, so we'll have to get it replaced. [edit] Okay, quick edit here. Ten seconds after I post this I find out there's a fre...
