I don't know what I would do. My brother is getting married later this year, and I do somewhat wonder if his fiancee will change her name ... partly I wonder because she has the same first name as me, only spelled differently. I was talking about this with friends a couple of weeks ago. One friend's...

The thing with using wikipedia as a source goes beyond the fact that it's not always reliable ... there's also the fact that, because it's all worked on by anyone who wants to, the data you see today and cite is not the data you see tomorrow. It's less static, and that has its good and bad points.

Hiya Bob! I spent so much money at the travel agents today that my EFTPOS card declined - the dollar value was over its limit! Flights are all paid for now, tickets are booked and being ticketed. Some seats are chosen, some I can't choose. Unfortunately the Hong Kong choice got taken away from me - ...

I think I agree, the hero is the narrator. I just had a sudden thought with regards to the 'original' manuscript ... someone who writes 56 (or however many) pages about packing and unpacking was either doing a VERY early version of "NaNoWriMo" or it was a self-published - vanitypublished -...

Hi Bob, Train timetables suck. Trying to figure out accurate costs for a trip on the other side of the world two months in advance suck. Having to shell out another $2700 for those tickets within a week sucks. Trying to figure out costs so I can decide if I want to spend a night in Hong Kong sucks. ...

I read this a year or three ago, and I'm annoyed I didn't check this thread before going to the library last weekend! GAH! (I'll see if I can find it today). I'm thankful that Ratey gets to live a day ahead of us and tell us what it's like in the future.
Today was sunny and Friday-like. It was cool earlier in the day, and there's a pleasant breeze at present.

I used to have time (in a former life) to surf around the internet during work... now I barely do (I just changed jobs). Maybe sometime later, but I probably won't check anything but email - I'm out of the habit of it. And if you do everything at work it's boring when you come home.

I'd be worried I'd wake up in the middle of the night to a crash when it fell on the floor. one of the things in the FAQ on that page is how to get your books to stop screaming in agony.
