I don't know, Dr. M. I can handle that. SOme points were good, others...not.

I'll answer it later, when I can give it the attention it deserves. Right now, I'm supposed to be working!

For a thing to exist, there must be evidence or proof of its existence. There can be no existence without evidence of existence. There is no evidence or proof of God's existence (that meets the criteria of the Scientific Method) Therefore: God does not exist. You can refute my above statement simplp...

EL,

I've yet to see anything even approaching 10% "Proof." And the "evidence" is always very, very subjective, unrepeatable, or (in the cases of the recent "prayer tests" at medical centers) fabricated by biased observers/examiners.

Wow, cut out the foreplay and get right to it, why don't you. These have been around for a few years at this point, but I'll repeat them here (I had posted them on the OLD P-Web, but all that disappeared when the site crashed) Boothby's five rules of theological debate: RULE 1 : Presume the existenc...

If He does exist, then why shouldn't it be provable
Good. Start proving.

BTW, (Steve as Steve here), just copying and pasting various passages from the bible in a loosely veiled and pitifully sorry attempt to proselytize is boring, beaten totally to death, and in bad taste.

Seamusz, It's like if someone were to ask you, "How do you drive a car?" and you grabbed them, against their will, forced them into the passenger seat, and proceeded to drive them to all your favorite places (because, of course, you "knew" that those places would bring your passe...

I like your phrase "rational, skeptical religious person" some of my best religious friends are exactly that!

But would you say that represents the majority of religious thought in this country? In any country?

Yeah, but I'm saying that the atheists DO have better evidence. And, given the chance, and an intelligent person to discuss things with, I can prove that there is no reasonable, functional, meaningful, non-self-contradictory definition of God. Therefore, since there is no description or definition o...

Eddie, But the Theist hardly ever has "better evidence." He (or she) just keeps harping on the Bible as irrefutable proof, or as "existence" itself as irrefutable proof, or other such nonsense. And, when push comes to shove, the theist resorts to semantics ("You're not reall...

My favorite is:

Pen, fountain, tear gas, exploding.

It's a real spec, but (unfortunately) now obsolete!

I came across that spec on micro-fiche over 20 years ago; I cannot find any references on the web.

Our lives also affect the lives of those around us. It may be on a local/family level or on a global/world level. And we can affect those lives for well or for ill.
