What antibiotic are you taking? PM me if you have questions. I'm hoping you looked up dosing so you are at least getting adequate treatment. The worst cellulitis I've ever seen was from a cat bite, so I would definitely be careful!

Re: got problems? (the non bob advice thread)
I asked for boring stuff for graduation (medical instruments, books, etc). Personally, I feel like getting the diplomas framed is a good choice because that's something you'll dread paying money for later, and nice framing is expensive! I still have all my diplomas / certificates / awards unframed a...

Cranberry has only been suggested as a possible preventative, but will do nothing once you have active cystitis. I wouldn't count on hydration and cranberry to do anything. Unfortunately, this is one where you really have to bite the bullet and pee in a cup. :/

Re: Can we have a Hunger Games Movie thread?
I finally saw this yesterday. I thought the movie was beautiful in terms of the scenery and costumes and such. The tracker jacker scene was so terrifying and perfect! I thought it was one of the best scenes of the movie. I also loved Rue and thought the young actress playing her was fantastic. I was...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)
Did you guys know that James Dashner is writing a prequel to Maze Runner? It's called The Kill Order and is supposed to be released in August according to Amazon. I'm re-reading Hunger Games. I read them through so fast the first time and it's been several months. I'm also on to The Scorch Trials an...

I finally finishing drudging through All Clear by Connie Willis. The ending was good, but not worth the 1000+ pages at all (between it and Blackout ). I almost didn't last to the end, but I hate not finishing books! Now I'm reading: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand The Maze Runner by James Dashner And ...

But on the topic of things I have no idea about, for me, it's brain-freeze. I used to think maybe, for some weird reason, it might be some sort of misnomer or people were dumb and confusing their chests for their heads because my chest gets a temporary mild discomfort when I eat too much of a cold ...

Bob, I have no idea how to prepare for all the horrible things I'm going to see in my career.
I watched today as a family withdrew all supportive care from their 9 week old baby.
There are no words.

I recently watched The Business of Being Born! I'm not sure when it became available on netflix streaming but I'm glad it was. I had about 4 weeks of dedicated OB experience, split between day shift and night shifts. I have to be honest, it was rare for me to see a totally unmedicated (as in - no pi...

I am now bored. It is 2am and I'm not tired. I have to work at 6pm tonight so staying up is probably good anyway, so I can sleep during the day today. Four more night shifts, whoo, and then I switch straight back into days. Actually I have to work 1/2 day after my last night shift, which pretty much...

I wouldn't say I loved Blackout, but I feel like I pretty much have to read All Clear to finish the story. I'm ...

I am REAL though.

Re: Books, eBooks, Kindles, Audiobooks, and that kinda stuff
I actually really like audiobooks when I'm driving any sort of distance. It's much better at keeping me awake and engaged than listening to music. I wouldn't listen to an audiobook when I can read for myself though, because I definitely zone out sometimes while listening and have to rewind occasiona...

I don't get Angry Birds. I have it on my phone and I passed the first 30 levels or so, but the game is far too frustrating to actually be fun. It relies too much on luck/chance than any sort of skill. One of my friends spent countless hours trying to beat every level with 3 stars. I don't understand...

It's called Oat & Wheat Bran Swirls. They are spiced to taste almost like ginger snaps and yet have so much fiber! I'll keep looking for them and pray they aren't gone forever. Trader Joe's does tend to rotate their items around though.

I don't know where else to put this, but I had the unfortunate experience of explaining oral sex to a teenager the other day. Here is the reason that I have never considered an e-reader but maybe you guys can give me more info: I rarely ever buy books. The only time that I do is if it is something that I have already read, know I love, and know that I will be rereading many times in the future. Or at a library book sale w...

I don't understand Kindle touch. How does the e-ink work with a touch screen? I watched a video for it and it still seems so weird. I did notice that the screen refresh is just slightly quicker than the 3rd edition Kindle, which is nice.

Re: Books, eBooks, Kindles, Audiobooks, and that kinda stuff
The Fire isn't e-ink, it's typical LED touch screen much like that of iPad/nook Color. If I was looking for a tablet, then Fire would be fine. It's probably more of a Kindle color plus some extras (i.e., "souped-up" Kindle) than a true tablet, but for the price you can't go wrong as compar...

Overdrive is now offering Kindle books. I just downloaded my first one and I am hooked. It takes an additional step or two but so worth it to be able to borrow free books. Previously, Overdrive books were available on most other e-readers including the Nook, as well as the iPad/iPhone/iPod. Also, an...
